I wonder if Sony is uploading syndicated episodes of Wheel as "Private" after contestants upload them, and after the upload, Sony is setting them to "Block in all countries". Based on the wording in the takedown of the most recent upload, the takedown appears to be automatic. This makes me wonder why a company wouldn't just privately upload the entire syndicated series and then set it to "Block".
I'm not completely sure what's going on though, as I've still never gotten a copyright strike. I have had videos get ID'ed after just being uploaded in Private status (though only claimed for ad revenue, not blocked).
I am also aware the forum does not need another topic about whether or not videos should be blocked. That's not what this topic is about. This one is about whether or not Sony is just a little slow.

Maybe they didn't upload every episode but a clip that is generic enough to catch many copyright violations.

From personal experience, it's the other way around. A small clip of what you upload can get matched to an entire upload by somebody else, and that results in a Content ID claim. Depending on the owner of the original work, it may just be set for ad revenue, or it may be blocked.
I can tell there are a few others who have missed my point of this thread, which was to ask about how Sony claims the videos, not why they are blocking them.
