Great job Leanna! I'm also glad to hear you're an animal rescuer! I have 2 rescues.
Merry Christmas!

I was stumped on TU2 and TU3. And the bonus round. Stupid J's and stupid phrases I never use. I think that puzzle got me once before, too.
Nice to see another R7, though.

I must ask how it felt to be part of a seven-round game.

Yay levesp08! Way to hang in there against some tough competition. I'll be totally honest, Leanna, I had to leave midway through your show (the dojo came calling) and after you bought the bad I in R3 I wrote you off as done and dusted. Never did I imagine there'd be seven rounds! You made the most of your opportunity in R5--shame you couldn't find a multiple on the big one, but I'm happy that you hit it at all. Glad you were able to make it into five-digit land, and at least you don't have to stress yourself out over when to take a trip! And wow, that bonus puzzle was brutal. And for The Big One, to boot...

Will Pat ever NOT do the "Now we gotta look in he--Oh, boy... Wellllll, we don't have to look..." thing? I don't think there's ever been a big money loss where he hasn't done it and it's getting old now (yes, after 14 years, I know...), especially when we can see the straight logo when he opens it the first time. Just goes to show you, don't call letters you already know are in the puzzle for sure. Calling D _ _ A with "_N_" is just like calling "H _ _ _" with "T_E" (which fortunately not many contestants are doing anymore), or "G _ _ I" on What Are You Doing? Funny how it took us a whole decade to get another Round 7, then we get another one after a couple of months. Congrats, Leanna! Great haul, especially for third place. Leanna, what letters would you have picked for the Bonus Round? The puzzle was definitely set up for somebody to call D _ _ A and then light up only those and not much else since hardly anyone calls J or Y. That's exactly how it went, unfortunately. Was I the only one who had the BR with RSTLNE? I recognized it not really as a Phrase, but as a tagline for Wendy's hamburgers (albeit less popular than the "Quality Is Our Recipe" slogan). Since Wendy's is my personal favorite fast food joint, it was no problem for me, even though I'm not a burger person (Frosty though... )

I don't think there's ever been a big money loss where he hasn't done it and it's getting old now I can think of two where he has just gone right to the reveal: 11/26/2008 and (if I remember the clip correctly) 11/03/2011. One more thing... I can expect at many more six-round games thanks to the Prize copy change, and I always like to see a Round 6, but I don't think we'll have another Round 7 for years. ...so never mind what I said months ago.

Boy, I have a LOT to say about this quite stellar episode.
First off, way to go, Leanna! Even though you came in third place, $11,200 is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!
Dick, on the other hand, did a swell job as well. Too bad he didn't win that gift tag (with his name on it)...
Tiffani - well, her dominance was truly a PULSE-POUNDING PERFORMANCE! But it's a real shame that she lost the $100,000 due to a tough Bonus Puzzle. She and I may have thought alike - the last word could've been HUMID.
And hold up - another Round 7?!?! I think I saw a Round 6 coming this week because of the five-rounders on the past two nights, but this? Awesome!
My rating: High 7
So, Leanna, any plans for the winnings?

Good to hear that you've rescued four pets, Leanna. My mother adopted a puppy last month. The dog was just left abandoned in our backyard, but my mother ultimately decided to adopt the dog and name her Missy. I'm also glad to hear what you won.

I've eaten Wendy's like twice in the past decade (the last time I believe was when I met you in Syracuse), and I can't stand them.

Sorry for the delayed post! My church choir had one final practice, tomorrow being Christmas Eve and all. I typed up my reactions as each round progressed: T1: I had no idea! Way to go on Old Man Winter, Leanna! T2: Again, I had no idea! I didn't know motorcycle boots were a thing haha. R1: What a painful bankrupt for Dick after doing all that work! Nice to see Tiffani win a trip though, and to North Carolina too! That's a different trip; good stuff! I also got excited about seeing Santa fly behind the puzzle board again haha. R2: WOW! Talk about a huge round for Tiffani! Great to hit the 3500 on the same letter! Haha about the Jim "sounding so much better"-- that was a fun message from the booth. R3: That 3500 wedge is getting a lot of action tonight! WOW for Dick! This is turning out to be a huge game!!! I was able to get this one after the first couple of letters because I was thinking about Rick's "Don't forget to bring your appetite!" prize puzzle from last year. T3: Man I was so bad at the tossups tonight haha!!! Geez. Good for the contestants for each getting one! R4: I would never root against contestants, but I was happy to see Tiffani hit the LAT here so we could watch Leanna play! Nice solve! R5: Nice 5000 hit!!! And YES! Nice work and great solve, Leanna! R6: You guys were flying through these puzzles! Amazing! R7 and Beyond: Wow. I just can't get over what an awesome episode this was all around!!! Leanna, you were just terrific! Everybody finished over 11,000, we had time for a seventh round, you were all great contestants... Doesn't get much better than that! BR: Oh geez. I typed that last message out before watching the bonus round. We almost had a 100K winner! That made the loss way more painful, but I don't think Tiffani has anything to be ashamed of here. I couldn't get anything when I was thinking of HOT so I thought "Maybe it's hit and something!" That was a tough one. Leanna, congratulations on your winnings! You were just terrific!

levesp08 I only have a video clip of your Pat Chat, some photo grabs and the recap to go on, but based on them I can confidently say (shout?) this: WELL DONE AND CONGRATULATIONS! You didn't give up after R3 when your both opponents had each amassed over $20K and you didn't hit a single penalty wedge to boot! You also contributed to making a rare R7 possible by your quick work in R4 and R5. I salute you! Unfortunately you do not qualify to join my I HATE LOSE TURN club, but I suspect that is of no consequence to you. Enjoy your winnings and your memories of playing the BEST GAME EVER!

MarioGS IMPRESSED you got the BR with just RSTLNE! I tried solving the puzzle as presented in the recap and was stumped, stuck on the phrase being related to weather vs. food. Wendy's also came to mind once I saw the solution. I ate a lot of it in high school as we had a restaurant right on campus!

ROUND 7!!! That is all. Great game, Leanna! Too bad you couldn't make it to Bonusland, but hey, $11,200 is pretty nice for third place. Probably the easiest eleven grand you'll ever make.

Great Game Leanna! $11,200 for you! I was so upset in the bonus round though. They lost $100,000. It would be nice if they solved it and confetti came down. It would've been the first $100,000 winner of the season! If she had the MDW it would've been worse!

levesp08 Congrats to you. Super happy to hear about the rescues. My last two dogs were from a local animal shelter. T1 & T2: Didn't know Old Man Winter and Motorcycle Boots took a while to come to me as it did you. R1 & R2: My hopes for you and Dick were fading once I saw she had $24K after round 2. Hitting the P on the 3500 felt like a dagger to me. R3: This one I had early on and I felt so bad when you called the I, but I agree with you in that an all-cash total is better than the trip. R4: I could tell you knew this one early on and it was great seeing you have fun with it. R5: Same with R5, just smooth, easy going. R6: Trying to figure out why Dick called the P for Ryan Seacrest. Just didn't see the logic there. Not many duds in the game though. R7: Still don't know if I'd call Fashion Statement a Thing but it's better than some of their questionable Phrases in the past. BR: This one I got but I wasn't surprised that she didn't get as most people wouldn't think of the word JUICY. Still though, $34K is nothing to be ashamed about and both Dick and our Leanna should be happy with their totals too. $11K after what happened in the first two rounds. Not bad. Congrats to you and super glad you enjoyed your experience out there.
