I know we've all bee noticing the budget stuff especially this season (changing the pink wedge, no remotes, SUV, etc.) but I've been watching a lot of "older" episodes lately and they used to have $300 and $350 spaces?! That seems so cheap compared to what they have nowadays. I'm wondering if it's to encourage more vowel buying (which I think we're all proponents of strategy-wise?) When did this start and what't he net effect on winnings do you think?

When did what start, exactly?
And what planet have you been on? The under-$500 wedges had always been there since the beginning of the program! It was only last year that they were boosted.

I meant the $500 minimum. I guess I was thinking if they really wanted to be in budget mode *more* they could have kept the sub-500 values and not give 500 on cardboard which they have done. Would people (not us) REALLY have noticed/cared?

Kevin, hasn't all the "budget stuff" happened this season? The dollar values were raised when times were better, I suspect.
Budget issues aside, I miss the wheel when it had more varied amounts. Don't get why they raised the amounts and decreased the variability. Maybe so that it would be easier for them to determine their budgets for future seasons?

You can notice the budget mode basically in the BR. They make harder puzzles and the most frequent prize is, by far, the $33,000 amount. And not to mention that, this season, cars are less expensive (the value of them is near $25,000) and they have got rid of the cash that until last season came with the car.
In the maingame the only thing that could be an indicator of the budget mode is that they don't have the 1/2 Car tags in R1. The other stuff stays as always, except for reducing some cash values of the Wheel.

If they are going to have cars less than 25,000 I believe they should go back to adding the xtra 5K. But, like Kevin, I like that the lowest amount on a wedge is 500. Do they still give contestants the extra cash with the trips? Hopefully the won't take that away too
