Thank goodness tonight's players are all leaving with at least $2,000. I would've been sad if it was the third night in a row for a contestant or two to get goose egged. Glad to see Danette get on the board in the Speed-Up Round.

Another nice Seattle episode. To be honest, I like the feel of these "Great American Cities" weeks so far - just like a remote from the studio. Jeff made this episode all the more exciting, with his Mystery and Express wins. I'm glad Lannie and Danette won something for themselves, especially Danette. Three consolation prizes in a row would've been tough to watch. Believe it or not, I had the Round 1 puzzle with just the N; I also thought the third Toss-Up was DRIVING AROUND early on. SAME LETTER? How about SAME WORD? Welp, so much for a Bonus Round win tonight. I thought would Jeff would have it with his picks (I got it with RSTLNE), but he needed the A's (or even the O's). The G's were definitely not a waste. My rating: 7.5

That was a very nice speed up round for Danette. I always find myself pulling for the teachers, and I'm glad she was able to get a nice chunk of change in that final round! I was pulling for Lannie too-- anyone who finds themselves working with kiddos in & out of the classroom gets a ton of my respect for sure.
Jeff just had the momentum tonight. That Mystery Round was a bit of a fluke for him, but glad it worked out in his favor. Hopefully Danette isn't kicking herself too much for the repeat T.
In regards to the BR... I feel like this is the second WAYD BR I've seen fairly recently that the G actually pops up in the puzzle more than once (though I was thinking GOING when I saw it show up), so I don't blame him for calling it. That I really seems to be a trap though. I didn't get ABROAD here; I know Pat had said if he had called the A that would've helped, but I think the O may have done it as well. Oh well!

You can't really kick yourself too much if you repeat a letter that was already a dud. I think it's usually when the letter is in the puzzle, or if you switch to another letter too late. Yet another CDMA puzzle in the Bonus Round too. Whoops. By the way, I have one response to that Prize Puzzle:

Yet another CDMA puzzle in the Bonus Round too. Whoops. By the way, I have one response to that Prize Puzzle: Thanks for saying that -- I had nightmares prior to taping about mis-solving and/or calling a used letter -- then when the time comes I called a used letter not on the board (N)!!! I guess because while you are in it you are so focused on the puzzleboard and what makes sense there, it is so easy to be caught up and not to check the used letter board.... cringe-worthy mistake but in my episode I was able to recover! Side note: Another player on my episode called a used letter that was actually on the puzzleboard... and another mis-solved the puzzle so my two nightmare scenarios happened while I was there, but only one to me!

I think today's winner was a greedy jerk. He already had the game won by a long shot after he won the express money along with the prize puzzle. There was no way he needed the third toss up but he had to grab that anyway. Why not let someone else have the toss up? Are you serious? You're only given this chance once... If you're not in it to win it...stay home and play along with the TV. Given the opportunity, seize every moment of it and thank God for giving you the knowledge to solve all the puzzles that you can.

You wouldn't be saying this if Pat had hit $5,000 in the final spin and someone else won $36,000. Also, there's no need for calling contestants names like that. When you're there, you play to win; doing so by trying to solve every puzzle is in no way being "a greedy jerk." Hate the game if you must, but leave the players out of this.

I'm surprised they did use a Star Wars themed puzzle for this episode considering that it was "May the 4th Be With You" day.

did use a Star Wars themed puzzle Did you mean to say didn't or am I missing something? And maybe they couldn't get a trademark/copyright permission for it.

When you're there, you play to win; doing so by trying to solve every puzzle is in no way being "a greedy jerk." Hate the game if you must, but leave the players out of this. The way I've always seen this, the only time you are truly competing against the other contestants is during the tossups. Those do require a bit of skill and I don't see anything wrong with someone trying to beat others. And as WooWho said, if Pat hit 5K in the final spin, that could've affected the winner of the game! (On my mobile so I can't reference the name but I think it was Danette* who had a pretty big final spin round as it was!) Aside from the tossups, I think the rest of the game, as the contestant coordinators constantly reinforce, is truly you three contestants together against the wheel! Many a skilled solver has had bad luck with the wheel, and sometimes some contestants without those skills have had some great luck on their side! There's nothing wrong with a contestant playing the game; that is of course why they are there! As far as I'm concerned, the only way a contestant could truly be a "jerk" is if they started applauding and laughing if a fellow contestant hit a bankrupt or lose a turn, or missolved the puzzle (unless on the latter they're laughing with the contestant-- big difference there!)

There was no way he needed the third toss up but he had to grab that anyway. Why not let someone else have the toss up? Wow.... just wow. From someone who was there and played it, let me just say that I totally blocked everyone out during the toss-ups! You do not look anything other than the puzzleboard! And frankly, I was not that aware of how much the other contestants had won (there is a tote board for your reference, but in my position I would have really had to turn my head to see it). Furthermore, this is a one-time chance for someone to play the game and win money. The toss-ups are won based on solving skills alone and not based on the whim of the Wheel. All players have an equal chance. I wasn't about to "give" my chance to anyone, it would not have mattered if I had won every toss-up and puzzle previous to that!

I agree with Josh and Paul. Jerks would be contestants that are rude to their fellow contestants by laughing at their mistakes like hitting a penalty wedge, calling a wrong letter, or failing to solve the puzzle correctly. Besides, as Pat would say on occasion, things can change in a hurry like a $6,000 Speed-Up Round, which a contestant could end up calling a big multiple and if they can solve the puzzle correctly, they could pull off a major comeback. As Shannon, Jackie, and Alex have told contestants before they begin taping the show, our mutual enemy is the wheel. Like Paul said, the only time we beat each other is indeed during the Toss-Up puzzles to see who gets to be interviewed first or to spin the wheel in round one or four, which is kind of like playing JEOPARDY! with word puzzles instead of clues. The only jerk around here is someone who is envious about not getting on the real show to enjoy the experience of spinning the wheel, calling letters, and getting to shake hands with Pat Sajak or if they only care about winning instead of having fun with their fellow contestants.
