Ever since I was a child, I grew up watching game shows. I managed to learn my alphabets and mathematics by watching Wheel Of Fortune. I started playing the Playstation edition when I celebrated my 8th birthday and at first, I was really bad at this game, but I soon learned to master the game as I got older. When I was president of my high school's board game club, I remember building a Wheel Of Fortune wheel to see if we could get new members. I've also learned that you can't be too harsh with people who appear on a game show because there's a lot of pressure to deal with like the cameras, the audience, and trying to make loved ones proud, along with a few other stuff that Robert mentioned. I remember using the catchphrase when I started hanging out with some friends on Skype whenever something good happened to me when we played games like Wheel Of Fortune. As a long time member on here, I've made some dumb mistakes during my early years, but if it weren't for the mods on here, I would've been banned right away or for not listening to their warning(s). Thanks to them, I've managed to practice my puzzle solving skills on here with mock games and the DPG. Enough about my early life. Back in 2015, I remember hearing the show was coming to Denver for Wheelmobile auditions, which I asked my mom to take me there for the weekend to see if I got picked on either of those days. Thankfully, I got picked on the second of three shows on Saturday because we had a snowstorm on Mother's Day last year. I wore my Wheel Of Fortune 25th Anniversary necklace at the auditions and everyone, including Marty and Tracey, envious. A few months later, I got an e-mail from the show saying I was picked for the final auditions while I was vacationing in Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia. Mom and I had to return two days before my final audition because I wouldn't be on the show if I slept in on the day of my audition. About a few weeks later, I got the letter from the show saying I was picked and I honestly thought I was either going to be rejected or that I was going to be playing in season 34. I had to change my address when I moved to the new house because if I wanted to be notified, I had to let Sony know about it. My goal was to split half my winnings with my mom if I did get picked to be on the show because she made a lot of sacrifices for me, as well as supporting my lifelong dream to be on a game show like Wheel Of Fortune. I first met Tyler, who played on Monday's episode, at the pool on the night before taping day and he was a really cool guy to talk to. We greeted each other at the lobby while waiting for the shuttle to take us to Sony. After we were picked up, we also met Mary and Paul, who were at the other hotel, and we chatted with them for a bit. I remember her winking at me after mentioning this site and I was actually speechless like "How did she know me?" because we never met in person. When I walked onto the stage with my fellow contestants, I secretly wanted to cry tears of joy because it felt like I was playing the game in my hometown without a big audience or being in the state of Colorado. After my episode was taped, the staff members started shouting out my catchphrase, along with the other players who were there to see the last of the tapings. I will admit that something embarrassing did happen during practice. When I landed on the EXPRESS, I accidentally mispronounced bass for a type of fish instead of a guitar. Oops! Like I said, even though it's only a once in a lifetime opportunity, I'd definitely play again if they ever invite me back for a special game before they retire, which is never going to happen because of budget issues. Now, to end this story with my infamous catchphrase that'll probably get a few late night hosts hooked on: Boo-yah!

Thanks for sharing, Eugene! Now please tell us that at least local news outlets have contacted you and want you to share some of this with their viewing audience.

Even though I was interviewed after my game, I'm afraid they haven't called yet.

Eugene you were the most enthusiastic player of the week! I'm so proud of how you represented Denver I think it is so cool you are sharing your winnings with your mom. She sounds like a special lady! Wish I could have stayed longer on taping day to meet my favorite players families and friends... your backstory was fun to read. I was surprised they chose my viewing party to air, since Steph was the big winner! I've seen you several times on the commercials on KDVR though!!

She is a special person to me. Besides, I'm only allowed to be on a show like Wheel once in my life, so I had to make the best of it. Apparently, they can't get enough of me, which is why I'm in the commercials for KDVR.

Just realized I forgot to add the word "were" for the necklace sentence. Oops! Everybody, including the Wheelmobile hosts, were envious.

As soon as September comes around, my mom and I will be getting some new furniture for the house we moved into four months ago and save the rest of my winnings for emergencies. I might as well want to send a thank you letter to everyone at Wheel Of Fortune for the opportunity to play and for the money I earned.

I'd like to chime in here to add to the pre-tape experience to say that I remember Eugene from both the Wheelmobile and the final audition. Eugene was actually IN my Wheelmobile audition group onstage! I remember we had gone through the lineup twice with no solve (both of my letters, L & D, were duds), and then Eugene solved with gusto after calling an A (5 of them!) "HAWAIIAN VACATION!" I recall leaving the Wheelmobile thinking "That guy is absolutely getting through!" So when I showed up to the final audition come September, I was not surprised at all to see him in the crowd! That same enthusiasm & energy from the Wheelmobile absolutely transferred through to the final audition all the way to Sony Pictures Studios! Congrats again, Eugene!

That was you at the Wheelmobile audition last year? I didn't know that until we got to the final auditions! I remember shouting "Boo-yah!" at the top of my lungs after Marty said I was right at the auditions. Thanks again, Paul!

Last month about a week before the Denver games aired, my mom told me that my grandmother from my dad's side of the family had passed away. Although neither my mom nor I had gotten along with her, I was more skeptical because I thought my dad was lying to get our attention with some really stupid and rather cruel joke, but my mom confirmed that she really did pass away, which is why I chose not to have a viewing party when my episode aired.
