Hey everyone. So I originally posted and then deleted this question because I decided to look it up. However, I can't find anything. I do however see many other campaigns on GoFundMe for Wheel of Fortune.
Does anyone know of a reason NOT to put up a fundraising page? I don't want to get disqualified from the show but as I said, I see other people creating posts.
Thanks!

I assume these are campaigns to be able to get on the show, but are they explicitly for the general public to support? Or does the description say family and friends only?

Anything posted on GoFundMe is public. You can "advertise" it to only family and friends but all campaigns can be found. You can turn off being included in their search engine but anyone with the link can still see the campaign. So if a friend posts on social media, it would then be public (if that makes sense).
If you do a search for "Wheel of Fortune" the results are 41 campaigns. Of those, about seven were for people trying to get to California to be on the show after getting their letters. Others were things like wheel chairs which just had those terms in the posts.

Given that you have to pay your own way to and from Culver City, I don't see why trying to raise funds online would result in disqualification. (Heck, I'm surprised I haven't heard of anybody doing this before now.)

I don't see why trying to raise funds online would result in disqualification That's what I was thinking too. But I want to find out officially before posting something. I guess I could always have my friend post it for her airfare and stuff since she's coming to support me. This way it's not fundraising directly for me. I mean, I feel bad asking someone to come support me on this experience but pay their own way.
