I know that many (if not all) wedge values and color have changed over the years but my main question is...
How long has the red $800 been to the right of Lose a Turn, followed by the purple, pink, green, and orange wedges. It seems that color sequence has been around forever.

Aligning the wedges in Paint, I noticed a few things: * "The Purple/Red/Lose A Turn", Pink wedge color (under the MDW) and purple next to Bankrupt all date back to Season 4. * Several other wedge colors all date back to Season 14. * The black Bankrupt color dates all the way back to the pilots.

I've been doing some research on this because it got me curious. I'll be posting a few pics tomorrow with comparisons.
Interestingly, the $800 has been next to the white Lose a Turn since 1996. It's been followed by a purple, pink, green, & orange wedge also since that year.
Also, the orange, purple, yellow, pink, red wedge sequence on the right side of the wheel has been used since 1996.
The purple wedge on the right side of the Bankrupt has been there since 1996.
And, the green wedge where the Free Spin used to be, now a 1/2 Car, has been there since 1996.
The blue wedge next to Lose a Turn has been there since 2006.
The blue, green, pink wedge sequence next to Bankrupt has been there since 2006.
The green, yellow, red, blue wedge sequence next to the top dollar value wedge has been used since 2008.
Seems like 1996 was a big renovation year for the wheel.
The $800 is the ONLY cash wedge to have not changed since 1996...of course, with the exceptions of the top dollar values.

Seems like 1996 was a big renovation year for the wheel. It was. The red-letter date in particular you're searching for is September 16, 1996 (also the date the Jackpot wedge debuted). That's when the single-template system debuted. For the time prior to that, you'd want to check the template used in Round 3 from 1987-1996 (Round 2 from 1975-1987).

That's also when they got rid of the $150, $200, $750 and $1500 wedges.

^It'd be sweet if they'd bring back $750!

It was first introduced in 1986 (Season 4) with some small changes here and there since then. By 1988, it received its final upgrade save for the CBS Daytime version from 1989 to 1991. And I find it interesting that the '86 was brought up because there was something that I noticed many years ago. Colorwise, I noticed that the $500-$200-$550-$400-$200-$900-$250-$300-$900 stretch was the same as the $400-$900-$250-$350-Bankrupt-$750-$800-$300-$200 stretch apart from the middle wedge. Even the $1000-$500 segment followed suit with the $350-$1500 segment in Round 4. I also noticed something interesting about the 1996 template. For the most part, most of the colors followed a specific similar pattern. With that in mind, I made this illustration back in 2012. www.deviantart.com/art/1996-Color-Pattern-288979642
