Wheel on GSN...

The big question is will GSN rerun the crap out of S31 or will they fully air S30 (or another season) once their done with S31.

The order continues for both hours during the week of February 20, with Julian Batts' infamous episode airing on 2/21 at 12:00.


I think it's safe to assume that the season is indeed being run in a "cycle" with a certain order in mind with "freezes" for holidays:

The next two weeks shows a few of changes since the last cycle:


- This time, New Year's From Las Vegas week is not being skipped when its turn comes in the episode order. It will be seen 3/21-23 during the first hour.

- This time, all five shows from America's Game II will be airing in its spot in the order. The first time, it was skipped altogether and moved to air as filler during the holiday season, and the last cycle skipped the Monday and Tuesday shows.

- Last time, the final six Season 30 episodes (Dad's Week 5 and America's Game V 1-5) aired in between Season 31's America's Game V week and Happy Father's Day/finale week, which was followed by 31's Happy Mother's Day week to finish the cycle. This go-around, Season 31 is finishing off in order and uninterrupted, and the Season 30 episodes will be airing after Season 31's finale on 3/21-24 during the second hour. Despite Father's Day still being included for both Seasons 30 and 31, Happy Mother's Day week is not included in this cycle at all, as we return to the Season 31 premiere on Friday 3/24 at 12:30 after Season 30's finale, which means the infamous CORNER CURIO CABINET episode will be airing Monday 3/27 at 12:00.

^That'd be great if they'd air the missing 6 episodes from S31.

I'm still hoping they acquire another season.

Not again with "The Pyramid", I don't like that host. I rather watch Donny Osmond's version instead. I'm starting to feel bad about wheel now that GSN is starting to show favoritism.

Next two weeks continue in the usual order, with 11/08/13 (America's Game I, Day 5) skipped and the holiday weeks that follow. Come December's episode, Outdoor Adventures (the Christmas week) is being skipped, but New Year's From Las Vegas is once again included in this cycle. Probably safe to say that week will always be included in the rotation from now on.

After Mother's Day, the final two Leave Winter Behind shows and all of Winter Hideaways (though the latter was included last cycle) are being skipped straight to Sandals Resorts Romance Week, another "holiday" week not being skipped this cycle (the former 11:00 AM hour was in the middle of airing this week before Wheel was reduced to 2 shows a day). After that is Venetian Valentine's Day. However, come this week, another oddity...

On Thursday 5/18 at 12:00 ET/11:00 CT, the Tuesday show from Venetian Valentine's Day (02/11/14) is being replaced with the Tuesday show from Season 30's premiere week (09/18/12). This episode will be new-to-GSN and is the seventh episode from Season 30 to air. Despite this sudden replacement, the rest of Venetian Valentine's Day is airing as normal, and the Tuesday episode that's now being replaced had aired on GSN once before back on 02/13/17. Interestingly, the victim and its replacement are exactly 300 episodes apart (S-5957 vs. S-5657).

So it's quite possible that GSN has the rights to all of Season 30 and uses it as a "reserve" to replace any Season 31 shows they choose not to (or outright can't) air to keep their rotation at a full season's worth of 195 episodes. Or they could have simply leased the handful of S30 shows on a show-by-show basis. Odd that so far, we have the last 6 episodes of the season but now also the 2nd of the season, rather than the premiere or the 7th-to-last episode.


I looked at the recap for 02/11/14 and there didn't appear to be anything that would merit the show having to be "banned". If they're going to start "banning" individual episodes for reasons other than out-of-place holiday sets, can they please ban 09/17/13 and 04/11/14?
