This week is Hawaii week and Shop Your Way week, skipping over America's Game IV and Happy Mother's Day. The reason for skipping AG4 and also Wheel Across America a while back is because apparently GSN now considers those weeks "holiday" weeks. Episodes from both of these weeks will be seen next week in honor of July 4. There will only be one episode of Wheel on Wednesday, July 4, at 12:30 ET/PT. This is due to that day's Deal or No Deal being the Million Dollar Mission episode where Tomorrow Rodriguez became the second million-dollar winner, which ran for 90 minutes instead of the usual 60. Because of this, the Wednesday episode of Wheel Across America (S-5993; 04/02/14) is getting skipped, probably to avoid having any themes carry over to the next week. They've done this multiple times this cycle. And the latest in bizarre holiday airings, Christmas is happening in July. Starting July 9, they will be airing episodes from the Christmas rotation. The cycle is ending earlier than expected. Secret Santa II 5, which already aired randomly amongst other Christmas episodes last March, is being skipped, then the third Secret Santa/Home for the Holidays week airs next week from Mon-Wed, then finally a return to the normal order with Here Comes Summer from Wed-Fri. And then that's it for this cycle. The Season 31 premiere week airs again starting Monday, July 23, skipping over America's Game V, Happy Father's Day (which we saw last month), and for the first time, the Season 30 episodes as well. AG1 was the only AG week this cycle to air in its proper spot (the three episodes of that week that are considered part of the regular rotation, anyway). Some of the others were used as filler to pair with other holiday weeks. Out of the 195 episodes in the lease (189 shows from S31 + 6 from S30), GSN only aired 169. The following episodes were skipped this cycle: - Halloween (full week) - Disney Cruise Line Week, Days 4 and 5 - Winter Hideaways (full week) - Girlfriend Getaways, Days 4 and 5 - Wheel Across America, Day 3 - America's Game V (full week) - Final 6 episodes of Season 30 This also means that this cycle did not air either of the two $100,000 win episodes that are part of the current lease, which fall during AG5 and the Season 30 finale week. Looks like they screwed up the classic flashback bonus round. After round 2, they showed the puzzle but they never showed the solution (which was JAWS). On other episodes, the classic puzzle is edited out completely, cutting straight to commercial right before they would have shown it. They must have edited that episode incorrectly. |

GSN is seriously going overboard on skipping and holding weeks.
This new cycle is skipping Week 3, Teacher's Week, perhaps to hold it to September for the back-to-school season?
Later on, Weeks 7-12 are all being skipped: Halloween, AG1, Secret Santa/Home for the Holidays, and Wheel Salutes Our Military. After Las Vegas Vacation week from October, we skip all the way ahead to Disney Cruise Line Week from December.

This new cycle is skipping Week 3, Teacher's Week, perhaps to hold it to September for the back-to-school season?
Turns out I was right. The first week of September is being treated as a "back to school" week. Monday-Wednesday will be Teacher's Week and Wednesday-Friday will be... sigh... College Week (Week 30).
The week of September 10-14 will be all America's Game episodes. Monday-Wednesday is AG5 from June (Week 38, with S31's sole $100K win) and Wednesday-Friday is AG2 from January (Week 17).
So far, the weeks have been aired in the following order this cycle, with "40" representing the Season 30 episodes:
1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 13, 40, 20, 18, 19, 14, 23, 3, 30, 38, 17...

I also heard that GSN’s Family Feud lease is changing. As of Monday, they will no longer air Season 14. Season 18 will be added to GSN’s Family Feud lease. According to GSN’s schedule, the Season 18 premiere airs Monday at 8PM.

This leaves Match Game as GSN's sole remaining "classic" (pre-'00s) show, though at least there's always BUZZR, which has recently brought back Classic Concentration after last seen 25 years ago on the air. Regis WWTBAM did air though on the channel in the mid-late '00s. Once again, no more classic Pyramid, though we're coming up on 65 episodes of the current version, so perhaps that may land there soon. Still, I don't know why given that GSN is owned by Sony that they wouldn't start leasing other seasons at this stage. And with a Cover Story episode soon (see thread), Wheel may remain on the schedule for awhile. I just don't want any Season 32/33/34 yet, and prefer a season # in the high teens or 20s. But knowning what they did with Feud, it seems like another 30s season is more likely, if they ever come across it.
