Here's a wonderful way for Sony to air all those classic Wheel episodes The Steve Harvey Network wouldn't bother to air nowadays. Start their own version of BUZZR. They could also use it to air classic episodes of Jeopardy!, Pyramid, The Joker's Wild, Tic-Tac-Dough, The Dating Game, and The Newlywed Game. And like BUZZR they should air them with the original credits intact and not crunched for some promo they could air during any commercial break like GSN has been doing for years. There's a zero chance of having it to happen because of royalties (music, estates of Merv Griffin and I believe the late Mark Corwin...?)

Another idea would be for Sony to change their draconian policies on YouTube uploads of their shows (the Griffin shows, Bob Stewart stuff, Barry & Enright, etc.), but same problem as above.

This is why music rights/royalties laws need to be majorly revised. Why are we letting these deny us from watching a lot of old shows? Why should they even need to pay Merv's estate when it's for one of his own shows? And I don't think they would need to pay a former director's estate.

I don't think it would draw too many ratings away from SHN because it wouldn't have Feud on it. And yeah their Viacom-like YouTube policies stink like a skunk, especially considering how bad Wheel currently is (in my opinion at least).

He was the one for creating the music package for Wheel (yes, changing keys) and he was also an executive producer for both shows (Jeopardy! and Wheel) right up until 2000. Also yeah what Bryce said, once ad revenue kicks in for the videos, no matter if the money should belong to the creators, they'll still have to do their part. Bryce, will this YouTube upload practice still impede the ratings?

The Price Is Right and FAMILY FEUD still does well today even if hundreds and hundreds of classic episodes are found on YouTube. That said, there is a new app called Nosey that has many episodes of present and past talk shows and some court shows, along with some Freemantle shows as well, and that still doesn't hurt those aforementioned shows. And there are many alternatives to YouTube out there as well. We've just about hit 18 months now meaning that we're just about due for a new lease, perhaps with the rotation method like GSN did in its early years or buy running S31 on weekends like it did with 13 and 14 in 2000 since about each episode has aired about four times now given the double run format for most of this lease.

As of April 21, the lease is still the same. Actually, most episodes from the current lease, including the final six episodes of Season 30, have aired at least five times now. Many from the first half the of the season have aired six times because of the former 11:00 AM hour which ended while it was on February 2014 episodes. We're on the seventh cycle now, but currently, the most frequently-reran episodes are the first two episodes of Weekend Getaways (Oct. 14 and 15, 2013), which have both aired eight times to date. Save for the six blacklisted episodes, every other episode of Season 31 has aired on GSN at least twice. The only episodes that have aired twice are from the Christmas and Secret Santa weeks plus the America's Game I episode with the Christmas set. Halloween week has aired three times, and all of the other holiday-centric episodes have aired at least four times. There was also one single time where a random show from Season 30 appeared in the schedule but didn't actually air. If GSN aired Wheel seven days a week, I doubt they would air two separate leases. Millionaire currently airs seven days a week where the weekday and weekend airings are considered separate "rotations", but both are within the same lease. Remember that for a while, Wheel aired two separate hours each following their own rotation, but under the same lease (last six shows of S30 and all but six shows of S31). GSN acquired Millionaire in December 2017, and unlike their 195-episode lease of Wheel, their Millionaire lease appears to be two full seasons - 14 and 15 (2015-16 and 2016-17, 350 episodes total). As of next Friday, they will have completed airing every episode of Season 14 of Millionaire in order, and unlike with Wheel, they did not blacklist or skip any episodes. They even aired a lost episode that never aired in syndication! After they air the Season 14 finale, they're moving on to Season 15 in order. At first, the show aired on weekdays in a double-run, then they added a second hour much like they did with Wheel, which started off at the start of Season 14 while the existing hour continued on. The second hour was quickly done away with in favor of more Family Feud, but they added a weekend feed in February 2018, which picked up where the second hour's rotation left off, but still within Season 14. When the weekday rotation starts airing Season 15 on 4/16, the weekend one will still be on S14 for a while (as of Sunday 4/15, it will be on S14 E123). Presumably, both rotations will loop back to S14's premiere once they go through all of S15, so even though weekdays and weekends will soon be separate seasons, it will all still be under the same lease. You have to wonder how much it cost them to acquire two complete seasons of Millionaire versus one season's worth of episodes of Wheel, with almost all of one season and just filling in small gaps with episodes from another season.

More bizarre out-of-season holiday episodes coming up. Halloween week is unsurprisingly skipped, but Season 31's Christmas week, Outdoor Adventures, is sandwiched in the middle of the incompletely-aired AG1 week. Then, there's a random Secret Santa episode thrown in, followed by a return to the "normal" order skipping over the rest of the November holiday episodes, and for the first time, Wheel Salutes Our Military is getting skipped. This is the lineup for the next two weeks:
Monday 4/9 12:00 - S-5873/31x023: Weekend Getaways 3 (10/16/13) 12:30 - S-5874/31x024: Weekend Getaways 4 (10/17/13)
Tuesday 4/10 12:00 - S-5875/31x025: Weekend Getaways 5 (10/18/13) 12:30 - S-5876/31x026: Las Vegas Vacation 1 (10/21/13)
Wednesday 4/11 12:00 - S-5877/31x027: Las Vegas Vacation 2 (10/22/13) 12:30 - S-5878/31x028: Las Vegas Vacation 3 (10/23/13)
Thursday 4/12 12:00 - S-5879/31x029: Las Vegas Vacation 4 (10/24/13) 12:30 - S-5880/31x030: Las Vegas Vacation 5 (10/25/13)
Friday 4/13 12:00 - S-5887/31x037: America's Game I 2 [set of Teacher's Week] (11/05/13) 12:30 - S-5888/31x038: America's Game I 3 [set of Southern Hospitality] (11/06/13)
Monday 4/16 12:00 - S-5921/31x071: Outdoor Adventures 1 (12/23/13) 12:30 - S-5922/31x072: Outdoor Adventures 2 (12/24/13)
Tuesday 4/17 12:00 - S-5923/31x073: Outdoor Adventures 3 (12/25/13) 12:30 - S-5924/31x074: Outdoor Adventures 4 (12/26/13)
Wednesday 4/18 12:00 - S-5925/31x075: Outdoor Adventures 5 (12/27/13) 12:30 - S-5889/31x039: America's Game I 4 [set of Weekend Getaways] (11/07/13)
Thursday 4/19 12:00 - S-5900/31x050: Secret Santa Sweepstakes II 5 (11/22/13) 12:30 - S-5911/31x061: Disney Cruise Line Week 1 (12/09/13)
Friday 4/20 12:00 - S-5912/31x062: Disney Cruise Line Week 2 (12/10/13) 12:30 - S-5913/31x063: Disney Cruise Line Week 3 (12/11/13)

More skips during the following two weeks.
The final two episodes of Disney Cruise Line Week are being skipped so that Monday starts off Wheel Around the World. Then once that week is done, we jump ahead to Always Great! Wheel & V8, skipping over Outdoor Adventures, which we just saw, along with New Year's from Las Vegas (this week has not been included in the regular rotation since April 2017), and all of America's Game II (the second time this whole week has been skipped).
Next week starts with Leave Winter Behind as usual, followed by Taste of the Good Life, skipping over three more weeks: Winter Hideaways, Sandals Resorts Romance Week, and Venetian Valentine's Day.
This will probably be the shortest and most incomplete cycle yet. After only six weeks, we'll already be more than halfway through S31 on episodes from February.

After Spa Getaway week finishes today, Happy Mother's Day week will be airing for the rest of this week leading up to Mother's Day weekend.
Next week, the order briefly continues with European Vacation, then the usual skipping of Beaches Resorts Family Week, but then another week getting skipped for the first time on GSN. This time, they are skipping the entire America's Game III week featuring Emil's famous NEW BABY BUGGY solve. We're going straight from European Vacation (March 3-7) to Girlfriend Getaways (March 24-28). Besides Halloween and Christmas, the normal rotation has already skipped seven full weeks this cycle.
There will be no Wheel on Friday, May 18. GSN is replacing the 12 PM hour that day with a rerun of the Cover Story documentary Meghan Markle - The Prince and the Game Show Model, in honor of Markle's wedding the next day.

The next two weeks are full of oddities.
Since Wheel is not airing on Friday, the two episodes that would have aired on that day (March 27-28, Girlfriend Getaways Days 4-5) are being skipped rather than being held over to Monday.
Next week (5/21-25) has yet another out-of-season holiday week: New Year's from Las Vegas followed by America's Game II (January 6-10), both of which were skipped last time the December/January episodes rolled around. This is the first time the former week is airing out-of-season in over a year. inb4 we get Sandals Resorts Romance Week and Venetian Valentine's Day in June
GSN now considers Wheel Salutes Our Military (December 2-6) a "holiday" week. It was skipped in the usual order this cycle and will instead air starting Monday 5/28 in honor of Memorial Day.
After that, from 5/30-6/1, we return to the usual order but with yet another "normal" week getting skipped. There will be no Wheel Across America (Mar. 31-Apr. 4) this time. They are instead skipping ahead to College Week. Should've skipped that one instead, IMO.

Why go forwards when they can go backwards? I'd rather see the other 189 episodes of Season 30 or Seasons 29 and prior.

Looks like we’re getting close to the end of this cycle. We still have this left:
Sandals Resorts Week (April 14-18) America’s Game IV (April 21-25) Wheel 6000 (April 28-May 2) Hawaii (May 12-16) Shop Your Way (May 19-23) Here Comes Summer (May 26-30) America’s Game V (June 2-6) Happy Father’s Day (June 9-13) (This week may get sandwiched in next week) (SEASON 30) Dad’s Week (Fri.) (June 7) (SEASON 30) America’s Game V (June 10-14)
There may be a new lease coming up after this. I would like this lease to be anything from Seasons 29-35.

Strangely, on today’s rerun of the April 10, 2014 episode, the 2014 version of the Sony Pictures Television logo was used instead of the 2002 version.

Yeah, don't expect that for Season 29-30 (up until the last couple of weeks) since the late Mark Corwin directed those seasons. And you won't probably expect those episodes with the old themes and cues from 2007-2016.

Happy Father’s Day (June 9-13) (This week may get sandwiched in next week) You would be correct. Next week is the skipped America's Game III week from March (meaning we get to see Emil this cycle after all), followed by S31's Happy Father's Day week on Wed-Fri. The week of June 18-22 goes back to the normal order with Sandals Resorts Week, then on to Wheel 6000 since the Happy Mother's Day week in between already aired last month. There may be a new lease coming up after this. I would like this lease to be anything from Seasons 29-35. What makes you think they'll change the lease? Precedent shows that they drop Wheel altogether for a while before picking it up again.
