Would anyone be willing to share the dress code rules for contestants on the show? If this is sworn to secrecy, no worries. If I'm picked for the final audition, I'd like to dress like I would on the show, and have a feeling I need to do a little shopping before then. Nothing like over-preparing. Any help is appreciated! Sean

I would say business casual at bare minimum. Definitely not a polo shirt, a button-down shirt with slacks (and a belt, for goodness' sake) ought to be fine. If you want to wear a jacket, a tie isn't required (I didn't wear one when I was on the show).
No white--it washes out the cameras and messes with the iris settings, making shooting everything else a living hell--and no busy patterns (narrow stripes, etc.)--the way it shows up on camera creates this unpleasant visual buzz. I think I remember them saying jeans weren't allowed either.
Really, though, if you watch the show and mimic what most contestants wear, you should be fine.

I agree with Josh, but whups... Definitely not a polo shirt Upon reviewing the local news story covering my audition, I now realize that I may have been the only guy in the room wearing a polo shirt and not a button-down shirt. 😳 youtu.be/Gz1jaESw1po

Umm...as a person of the non-male variety, I have a lot of questions about this:
Can I wear a dress (I don't wear pants! Ever!)? What's specifically forbidden? Obviously I'm not wearing anything scandalous (not my thing)...but I can't wear the typical dress pants and black jacket I see 95% of the female contestants in. I would be so uncomfortable (I hate pants! BoooOooooOoooo). Ladies?

She wore a red sweater for a top and a skirt as a bottom for her first show. Although as I mentioned this over 20 years ago. Dress code for a woman may have changed but I hope it didn't.

I've seen women wearing skirts/dresses on the show so I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm guessing their biggest thing is make sure you're not falling out up top.

You'll receive dress guidelines in the FedEx package you get. But, that comes with less than 2 weeks notice. I was on college week, so we all wore sweatshirts, but I think the main bullet points still stand (from the Information packet):
-Do not wear jeans, tennis shoes, or flip flops; wear nice khaki type pants or black pants or skirts -Do not wear necklaces or pins (possible mic issues) -No ring on your spinning hand (possible death) -Have guests well-dressed (they may be on TV!) -If you use special make-up for allergen reactions, bring it -If you have any facial jewelry/piercings, notify them before you get to studio -Gentlemen- if your hair is long, please try to avoid having it over your eyes.
Like I said, it's all in the packet you'll receive. And what Josh said - no stripes, no solid white. One of the "adult" alternates my day came wearing a really busy striped pattern and they were like, "no." haha

Hello,
I just joined this as I was just on March 27, 2018.
For attire, women they like you to wear a skirt or dress slacks with a pocket. As far as tops, not too busy, no big prints, preferably not red, white or black. I chose to wear a black blouse with a sweater over it and a silver long sweater top. No sheer tops or low-cut because you are leaning over to spin the wheel and this is a family show and they don't want any cleavage. As stated above, no rings on the hand you spin with so it don't get caught on the wheel. Any piercing you must notify them before the show. No necklaces especially long dangling ones.
Yes, they send you a fedex package prior with all the rules and paperwork and it is only 2 weeks before the taping.
I waited 14 months from when I got my letter to be a contestant, so be patient, it'll happen. I met people there who had just finished their final audition 2 weeks prior, so you never know.
Hope this helps.
