Apparently, Sony is in the works to possibly sell its film and TV arm of the company. And who's interested? Ironically (for Wheel), CBS...wonder what will come of this? www.buzzerblog.com/2017/01/23/is-jeopardy-in-jeopardy/This would also include Shark Tank, Beyond the Tank, The $100,000 Pyramid, and GSN's Chain Reaction.

I thought to myself sometime after I first found out about Sony's financial problems. Back in mid-2014, I wondered, what if Sony had to sell Wheel and Jeopardy! to another company just to stay afloat?
A sale would not surprise me that much.

Aren't W and J! two of Sony's biggest properties? It wouldn't make sense for them to sell their biggest moneymakers.
Just out of curiosity, what would this mean for the other shows, likes sitcoms, that Sony owns? Like, "One Day at a Time" and "Benson"? Would they remain with Sony or be part of the purchase?

I think Sony is trying to stay afloat as a whole, which is why they are willing to sell their biggest shows for big bucks.

Honestly, a sale to a company with the financial resources to properly invest in the show wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing...the shows might still be profitable, but it's quite obvious that they're spending considerably less money on them nowadays.
So long as its not Fremantle, who will overproduce them to death...

So long as its not Fremantle, who will overproduce them to death... Or pretty much any other company that's done a primetime game show in the past decade, for the same reasons. While part of me thinks Fremantle ownership would potentially lead to the duo showing up on Buzzr, I think CBS might be the best option here.

Les Moonves has been brushing with Sony quite a bit lately. Wouldn't be surprised if CBS bought both shows. Also, for all you soap fans, there have also been talks of "Days" becoming owned by CBS as well.

^I just hope they don't cancel "Days". It's my all-time favorite soap. I watch daily.

Will "The Young and the Restless" get renewed past September 2017? They haven't announced it yet.

As the number 1 soap, I'm sure Y&R will be renewed. No doubt about it.
"Days" on the other hand is a different story. It's always the low man on the totem pole. I've watched "Days" since 1995 and I'd hate to see it get canceled.
