How could anyone think Wheel isn't outstanding but that other stuff is? BAV we must band together and make them recognize Superior Wheel

BAV we must band together and make them recognize Superior Wheel Yeah... not when Jeopardy! is much more respected among the public while Wheel has a reputation as "Jeopardy!'s r******d cousin". This isn't going to change anytime soon. Though I do agree that nominating every major non-primetime syndicated or network game show ( Save to Win doesn't count ) except Wheel for Outstanding Game Show is a huge slap in the face. But we all know Jeopardy! is going to win it anyway so Harry won't care.

These award shows are crap anyway. I actually have no respect for them. They're just a platform to spew political views.

Yeah... not when Jeopardy! is much more respected among the public while Wheel has a reputation as "Jeopardy!'s r******d cousin". This isn't going to change anytime soon. I wouldn't go so far as to use the R-word, but I definitely wouldn't campaign for Wheel to get an Outstanding Game Show Emmy either. Though I do agree that nominating every major non-primetime syndicated or network game show ( Save to Win doesn't count ) except Wheel for Outstanding Game Show is a huge slap in the face. Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? feels left out, too. As for Save To Win...that thing is mediocre at best. For instance, when your host opens every episode by saying "Welcome to the show where smart shopping leads to money in your pocket." and said line doesn't actually apply to any part of the format, there's a problem.

(Apologies to our mod who was actually on Millionaire this season  )

$20K Pyramid won the Daytime Emmy in 1981 and $25K Pyramid in 1989 after they were cancelled(eligibility period was March or March back then, and the awards aired on a weekday afternoon in the SUmmer), and Password PLus won the Daytime Emmy in 1982 after it was cancelled.

This year's ceremonies will be streamed live on social media. I think it's very telling in this age of hundreds of channels which are desperate for programming nobody is willing to put this on the air. The return on investment must be negative. They aren't moving to social media because all the other cool shows are doing it!

I remember when the daytime Emmys used to be a huge event.
Heck, they even had a separate soap opera awards show in addition to the daytime Emmys. I loved watching the soap awards! "Days" and "AMC" fan here!

Daytime Emmys in the 70s and 80s were on a weekday afternoon from 3-5PM. Circa 1991, they moved to network prime time. The SOap Opera Digest Awards IIRC aired on January 18, 1988 in daytime on NBC, preempting Santa Barbara(3-5PM EST the awards aired)

Vanna didn't win anything, so what's the point anymore.

Vanna didn't win anything, so what's the point anymore. The point was that Vanna represented Wheel, our favorite show, at the Daytime Emmys as a presenter. An awards show that barely recognizes it still exists. Maybe that was the point?
