Peahix rescued from a old Betamax tape an episode of WOolery WOF between August 12-14, 1980 to his YOutube page. Dates are gleaned due to the Democratic National Convention update which cuts off the first bit of the show(joined when CHuck is talking to the first contestant, the convention was Aug 11-14), and the open to Password PLus with Susan Richardson and Jon Bauman which aired between Aug 12-15 and Aug 18, 1980. Always fun to see a Chuck & Susan episode. Just in case it gets pulled, here are the puzzles used: Round 1: QUOTATION ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE
Round 2: EVENT DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION
Round 3: OCCUPATION TIGHTROPE WALKER
Round 4: PHRASE ACHILLES' HEEL

One extreme oddity I noticed in the closing credits... directed by JEFF GOLDSTEIN ... dafuq? Jeff Goldstein was thanked in Chuck's goodbye speech the next year, he was director of WOF through at least 1981. Jeff directed the last years of Fleming Jeopardy, 1983's Dream HOuse and Home Shopping Game among others. Longtime WOF director Mark Corwin was listed as AD on this episode. as he was ADing many NBC game shows of the time. Dick Carson was the director of WOF by the time it went nighttime.

August 12 is the date, based on Allen Ludden's comments at the very end, which point to this being a Tuesday.
I no-lettered Round 2, but only because I had just looked up the date of the DNC '80 to see about when this episode aired.

*ahem* WOOT I'm pretty sure that's the longest we've ever heard the "Temptation Eyes"-esque cue play (it's used while Jack describes the prizes bought in Round 1). Wow, Chuck actually explained what putting money on account means. Aaaand the day's champ said they're glad the show was re-upped. Didn't see that coming. (Also, that seems like an awfully low total for an undefeated champ.) Ooh, a Ticket Plug! Actually, Dick Carson was director by the March 25, 1980 episode. It's entirely possible Dick was simply filling in for Jeff in March or vice-versa, with Dick ultimately becoming permanent by Chuck's last show. Given this was only the second week taped after Wheel's cancellation was overturned, it's possible Dick wasn't available at the moment but Jeff was.
