Newbie here.
I'm curious how many people got a letter to go on the show but were not asked to stay after the written test during the final audition. For those of you who made it on the show (or got a letter and are still waiting to go on), was this the case for you?
I went on stage at Wheel Mobile last month in Paso Robles, CA where I nailed my interview and made the audience laugh. When I solved the puzzle I acted like I had just won a million dollars. I got an email a couple weeks later inviting me to the final auditions, which was this morning in Paso Robles. I dressed business casual as the letter requested and had my application filled out, with my photo attached. I knew the answer to the puzzle by the time my name was called. I called a consonant, then a vowel, another consonant, then solved the puzzle. There was one consonant left when I solved, and I made sure I called the multiple before solving. I smiled and said "thank you" to Jackie when she handed me my prize. I smiled the whole time and clapped so much that my hands started to hurt about halfway through. I sat in the front row in the middle aisle seat, and I reacted every time someone landed on bankrupt, LAT, or $5,000, and every time someone solved the puzzle. I didn't do that well on the written test - holy cow does 5 minutes fly! When the contestant coordinators came back from grading the tests, they did not call my name. So now the wait begins and I'm trying to figure out my chances of getting a letter.

Welcome. I did get the letter despite not being asked to stay. How many puzzles do you think you got right on the test?

So now the wait begins and I'm trying to figure out my chances of getting a letter. I am a fellow newbie. I had an almost identical experience auditioning in Palm Springs. Went to the Wheelmobile event, got called up on stage, had a fun interview, did the practice round (called one letter and someone else solved), and got my e-mail to audition a couple of weeks later in Palm Springs. I went to the audition on March 30th, had my name called fairly early on mid-puzzle, had good energy, called 3 letters, solved the puzzle, received a hat, and was never called on again. I did well on my test (fairly certain I had 11 of 15 correct), and was sent home. The speaking part of my audition lasted one minute. No joke. I received my letter today, 13 days post-audition. My letter was postmarked Monday April 10th, so for folks in the Palm Springs contestant pool, letters are in the mail! If you didn't do well on the test, that could be a factor, otherwise your experience sounds like a spitting image of mine, and I made it, so hopefully you will too!

I honestly can't remember how many I got right. I was nervous and forgot to count. There were some that I didn't answer at all and some that I only partially answered. I maybe got half of them correct. 😬

Another fellow newbie here!
I auditioned with my husband and we weren't asked to stay either after the written test. But we received a letter! Sounds like you did great, so good luck!

I just auditioned yesterday and had a great experience. I tried to stand out with my enthusiasm and energy without being obnoxious. I answered the first question about what the "Before & After" puzzle meant and scored a Vanna signed headshot. I also solved the first puzzle and won a hat. I also got a chance to make a comment that cracked up the crowd and coordinators.
I didn't do well on the test but I'm praying that I made a positive impression. I wasn't asked to stay for the second half. It seemed that it was mostly couples and best friend duos that they kept. They did say that there will be a few of the people leaving early that will be getting a letter. I really hope I see one in a few weeks.
I felt prepared thanks to the kind folks in this forum who gave good information about what to expect. I will post updates if & when I get a letter.
Thanks again forum mates!

At least of late judging by others' recent experiences as well as my own, the folks they are asking to stay for a longer look (after the test) are the borderline cases. If you're asked to leave after the test, you either did really well, or you did not do well. Judging by your comments, and assuming you called logical letters and did what the coordinators asked you to do, I would say your chances are quite good. Your test results will be the determining factor. Best of luck to you!

I felt encouraged right up until you said "Your test results will be the determining factor." I don't think I did too well on the written test. I pray they saw enough of my game play to realize I know how to solve puzzles under pressure. I just don't do well on written timed tests. I guess I'll find out next week.

I auditioned last Thursday in Philadelphia. I was not asked to stay, but solved a puzzle, won a tote bag and thought I did pretty good on the written test. I am now in the waiting game!!! Is it an actual letter size envelope that comes or a large envelope? Did you also get an email?

It is a business-size envelope. There won't be an Email unless you are asked to tape ASAP, which does happen sometimes, but it's rare. Good luck!
