Hey All!
In celebration of S35 of Wheel, I've decided to overhaul my wheel (again, haha!); I've taken some inspiration from Eugene's layouts as well as Divvy's--your guys' creative is keeping my own layout fresh. I usually test wheel layouts during the first 3 or 4 episodes I host; going on Episode 8 today, I'm 83% sure that this will be the final layout for this year.
Below is the picture of the bare wheel, with the $5,000 being the standard TDV, as well as the FP being replaced with the orange $500 wedge; for those of you who have been following my home games for awhile, you know that during Solo games, the FP is obsolete, so it's replaced with a regular wedge, and LAT is replaced with a 1/2 wedge. I've explained the rules for S35 below! Enjoy!
The following rules are modifications to the already existing WOF rules; basic elements of game play have remained unchanged. Side note: I did experiment one game with vowels being $500, and my family agreed it was a bust, so back to $250 it went  .
Round 1: JACKPOT ROUND
I've dug this out of the closet in celebration of S35, but with a twist. The standard rules are the same, it starts at $5,000 and increases with each player's spin. If the Jackpot is unclaimed, the value of it at the end of R1 is noted; every 10th episode, the cumulative Jackpot totals from the previous nine games is added to the $100,000 top prize in the Bonus Round, and is only available to be won on that episode only. After each 10-game cycle, the Jackpot is reset and we start all over again, building to the next 10th episode, etc.
Round 2: MYSTERY ROUND
Rules unchanged.
Round 3: EXPRESS ROUND
Rules unchanged; $5,000 is the TDV; $3,000 is added to the wheel, covering the pink $1,000 wedge next to BANKRUPT.
Round 4: DOUBLE or NOTHING ROUND
A X2 wedge replaces the green $500 next to the orange $900; if the 1/2 CAR is still in play, that token is moved to another free spot on the wheel. $7500 is the TDV; $4,000 replaces $3,000 as the second TDV. If a player lands on the X2 wedge and correctly calls a letter, their current score will be doubled. If they guess an incorrect letter, they go BANKRUPT. In the event that a player lands on X2 with no money in their bank, they will have a free spin after correctly guessing a letter, and whatever value they land on is doubled, and applied to their score based on the frequency of the letter they guessed. (i.e. Player spins and lands on $900, having already guessed 3 T's on the X2; now they'll get $1,800 each for the letters they called).
Round 5:
Wheel is stripped of all add-ons; $10,000 is the TDV, and $5,000 is on the opposite side.
Everything else remains the same; I am having fun with the 3 bonus categories change this season.
Let me know what you guys think! Suggestions are welcome, and as always, I strive to have a layout that resembles TLC's amazing creativity. I *am* working on a wooden 36" layout for a Thanksgiving week family get together, with actually long rods as spokes instead of nails--the wedges do not fit individually so I have to make a vector to send to a print shop; any ideas?''
