Season 15 frequently had what I like to call the "crystal" backdrops where each player would stand in front of a piece where a blue or pink-colored backdrop gave the appearance of crystals, separated by white/gold sections with arched-shaped tops. I recall the Sports Fantasy week (where Fill In The Number was introduced) having dark blue-like crystals, while another week (can't recall) several weeks prior had them pink in appearance. I sort of was a bit disappointed when the video wall was introduced the following year because I thought those looked elegant. Any idea which weeks used this backdrop?

Yes...those backdrops could be lit with studio lights to be any color...I can tell you exactly which weeks used them: Week 6 - Beverly Hills (Blue) Week 8 - Broadway Week (Blue) Week 10 - Celebrity Week (Pink) Week 16 - Scandinavia (Pink) Week 18 - Wheel into 1998 (Blue) Week 20 - NFL Players Week (Blue) Week 24 - Home Viewer Sweepstakes Week 1 (Pink) Week 25 - Home Viewer Sweepstakes Week 2 (Pink) Week 31 - Sports Fantasy (Blue) Week 33 - AM & FM Week (Blue) Week 38 - Summer in the City (Blue)

FYI this was the set for the two Home Viewer Sweepstakes Weeks in Season 15...it’s the only time a “generic” set was used during that era.

Found some screen shots to show these backdrops...actually the design changed slightly during the season. I believe the top of the backdrops came to a point in the first week used but by the second week were changed to a rounded top. Also the colored portion became wider eliminating the white border starting with Scandinavia Week which is the second picture below. The first is from Broadway Week.

Do you have any one of the episodes that experimented with the "Puzzler Round" before making the real introductory in Season 16?
