Even back then they had an obsession with Bruce Springsteen. 1985 was his peak year of popularity on the charts, certainly, his biggest selling album, Born in the USA, came out in mid-1984 and had hit singles off of it(seven of them) for the next 20 months or so. So, it's not surprising they'd use his name as a puzzle. |

I find it funny that, since this was when Bruce was at his peak, they just use his name and not a puzzle referencing his music, just like what they do for today's music stars at a minimum. So this means we should start seeing Song Lyrics puzzles from Bruno Mars and Katy Perry in 2040.  |

I'm surprised they took that BR without hesitation, even though the guy who clearly started THE LOVE BOAT before the buzzer around the same time was told that he had to get the whole answer in before the buzzer...

The latter was done before this episode, though, due to having an incomplete animated logo. Maybe "get the full answer in before the buzzer" was the original rule, the LOVE BOAT awkwardness happened, and they opted to be more lenient after that? |
