So WJLA aired two first-run episodes back-to-back late on a Saturday night? Do we know the exact dates of those two episodes? Are these the same episodes that can also be found from WSBK's 9/11 archive?

I'm pretty sure they're from September 11 and 12 (the first episode's closing chat mentioned September 11).

I hate this format! It's impossible to watch!

One of my fellow trolls asked on 9/11 in ATGS if anyone had the 9/11/2001 episode on WOF and was able to watch it, and the person in question lived less than an hour away from the WTC at the time. It was quite a flame war on ATGS that night. The episodes from that week aired in SUmmer 2002 as part of the reruns or on the Saturday reruns in 2002-03. I suspect part of that had to do with the $100K bonus wheel debuting six weeks later, and WOF wanted all their reruns to have the bonus wheel format. The 9/11-9/14/2001 episodes of J! aired for the first time in 2005 on GSN.

So WJLA aired the 9/11 and 9/12 shows delayed to late Saturday night? Interesting they had the room for that. Doubt they would do something like that today. Now if only we knew what they did with 9/13, but this is quite a satisfying discovery to know that the 9/11 episode aired somewhere in the US. The 12:00 AM episode is indeed 9/12. Laurie from that episode commented on this blog post in June 2011 noting her airdate and winnings plus that she never got to see it. confessionsofahollywoodnothing.blogspot.com/2010/10/wheel-of-fortune-spins-on-september-11.html?_sm_au_=iVVR6MQZvjZFZW3sThe episodes from that week aired in SUmmer 2002 as part of the reruns or on the Saturday reruns in 2002-03. I suspect part of that had to do with the $100K bonus wheel debuting six weeks later, and WOF wanted all their reruns to have the bonus wheel format. You mean they didn't air, by that logic. It isn't actually known if they were included in the reruns, though it is assumed that they aired internationally in Singapore since Season 19 is known to have aired over there on MediaCorp Channel 5 circa 2004 (they still air US Wheel today and are not too far behind where we are now). I do recall seeing at least one week with the manual puzzle board in Season 14's summer reruns. 4-year-old me foolishly thought they actually went back to the old board and I was excited to see it again. I don't know about 1997-98 Saturday reruns since my station did not pick those up until 1999. It would make sense that Wheel would want to avoid airing reruns with the older format, but regarding other mid-season changes, they never seemed to mind. They reran several episodes from early Season 29 before the Mystery Round moved to R2 and early Season 33 before the Wheel layout changed, but those changes are minor by comparison.

Welp, this week has now come full circle. Actually, there was a couple of clips from September 13 which was uploaded to YT from the 9/11 archive and checking from the comment posted by a user who goes by the name of Richard Corliss, he posted the link for the full episode: archive.org/details/WJLA_20010916_043000_The_Pact/start/180/end/240

So WJLA aired 9/11, 12, and 13 all back-to-back on Saturday night from 11:30 PM - 1:00 AM even though their listings showed other programs and even a movie. That's got to be the only time any affiliate has ever aired three episodes of Wheel in a row for any reason. They must have gotten a heck of a lot of complaints from people who wanted their Wheel fix for the week in order to make such a bizarre move.
