On April 6, 2018, Someone reported that Warner Bros. Entertainment was negotiating a deal with Tony Vinciquerra to acquire Sony Pictures' filmed entertainment, cable entertainment, and direct broadcast satellite divisions, including Sony Pictures Television, GSN, and Funimation. The deal would include film rights to certain key franchises, including Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!, and the distribution rights to The Dr. Oz Show – which Warner Bros. did not obtain through its respective acquisitions of Merv Griffin and 2WayTraffic. Talks had stalled for the day without a deal being finalized, but it will be reported on April 10 that the prospected deal had yet to be fully abandoned.
