Apparently, WLNY, an independent station in the lower NY area that used to air Wheel and Jeopardy!, did air both shows on that day. I imagine there was at least one other independent station that did, too.

Has anyone ever supposedly missolved a puzzle, but were determined to actually be correct? I hear that someone once missolved a puzzle and was determined correct, but they later checked the tape. Has the same thing happened in the opposite way? Someone solved a puzzle, was declared a missolve, and later turned out to be correct?

HAH.
At least Pat owned up to it. That was rather amusing. She must have thought "Well then WHAT THE HECK could it be???"

^ Depending on whether or not you count punctuation, the largest I've found in terms of overall spaces used is SHE JUST WON A SEVENTH U.S. FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP, which took up 47 spaces of the board (45 letters + 2 periods). Counting only letters, the largest I've seen is HERSHEY BAR GRAHAM CRACKER GOOEY ROASTED MARSHMALLOW (46 letters). The latter is also the only use of What Are We Making?

I also have a question about the Surprise wedge.
Was the prize in the Surprise wedge a different prize every day or would be the same prize until won, then replaced with another prize?
I would think that the latter would have been a more logical option.

Can anyone find clips of the San Francisco episodes from this millennium? I've seen photos of it, and they look like they might be from around 2004, or 2005

They were from 2007. There was at least one episode on YouTube until Sony removed it. It hasn't resurfaced since.

You're thinking of San Diego, Mario. Wheel last went to San Francisco in May 2004. If you go to the video archive on the timeline, you will find at least two shows from then.

What is the actual name of the font used on the current puzzleboard (if there is one)?

When did they start theming Speed-Up puzzles to the end of the show?

What is the actual name of the font used on the current puzzleboard (if there is one)? I'm not sure if it's the exact one, but you can get really close with Helvetica Neue 87 Heavy Condensed.

That is indeed the right font. You'll have to skew the M's and W's, though.

Does anybody know why there weren't lights on the top and sides of the electronic puzzle board around 2002 on some shows?

^ The only ones I've seen with missing lights are the San Diego episodes in April-May 2003. My guess is that San Diego was the last taping session of Season 20, and the missing borders were in relation to the board getting its current LED border at the start of Season 21.
Either that, or maybe they just forgot them somehow when they hauled the board down to San Diego.

Why the show stop using funky colors on the neon puzzle board? I always thought it made things more fun. They say they can do up to 2,000 different color combos. Why stick with the blue? It would be cool to associate the color with the theme such as red and green this week.

I agree. It would be cool to see things like snowflakes falling, or when they have some beach theme half the strips sand and the other half water that moves in like tide.

Or they could just get rid of those ugly neon strips and bring back the far superior gold.
