Correct me if I'm wrong, but I combed through the wiki, and the only other season I could find was Season 5 (1987-1988) i.e. the first time on the road; NYC.
Some questions I have:
I know the wiki has a picture of Summer Bartholomew. Is that from her audition or from a time when she filled in for Susan? And, do her Vicki McCarty, and Vanna's try-out episodes exist or were they wiped by NBC? Does Susan's final episode exist, as well?
One more, hahaha..
When is the last time "Great Outdoors" was used as a theme week?

The NYC trip was Season 6, not 5. Also, I'm pretty sure Season 7 only went to Walt Disney World. I know the wiki has a picture of Summer Bartholomew. Is that from her audition or from a time when she filled in for Susan? The latter, specifically June 1, 1979 (her final day; Cynthia Washington filled in the following week). And, do her Vicki McCarty, and Vanna's try-out episodes exist or were they wiped by NBC? I'm at least 95% sure that clip of Vanna's audition seen on the nighttime show was not an unaired tape, but an episode (her first?) from that period. As for McCarty, one of her entrances was used on the True Hollywood Story (of which I still can't find a copy). While NBC may have assisted from 1975-80, the tape erasure/reuse into 1985 was Merv Griffin Productions policy. Does Susan's final episode exist, as well? Oh, yes -- the picture on her Wiki page is from the final segment, shortly after getting a bouquet of flowers from Nancy Jones. Clips were used in both the THS and a 2011 interview with Susan. Most other questions about episode existence/circulation are answered on this Wiki page, cleverly named "Daytime episodes known to exist" -- I say "most" because I'm pretty certain a few other 1984-88 shows circulate.

I have a couple of questions.
I heard that on their first day, Peter Argyropolous and Deborah Cohen used their Double Play and it landed on the $10,000 wedge. They picked it up, later solved the puzzle, and were awarded $20,000 instead of $10,000. Many, many people say this is true, but is it?
Also, has WOF ever offered a houseboat as a prize? I know they offered houseboat cruises, but have they ever actually offered a houseboat as a prize?

Their first show is currently not available to view anywhere on the Internet (as least not that we know of). Without that video evidence, we can't really draw a conclusion about what happened there. As for the houseboat... Possible, but unlikely. While Wheel has offered boats, a houseboat is probably a little too big of a prize for the budget. Although, there were some crazy things offered up in the early days... not like today where it's all trips, trips, trips.

I have a couple more questions.
What was the most expensive vacation ever offered/won in the bonus round?
For back in the 90's, has anyone ever collected all 4 prize wedges (Round 2 Prize, $10,000 Space, Surprise, Round 4 Prize) in one round and won them all? Has anyone ever collected all 4 prizes and won them anyway? I know there are instances when a contestant wins 2 prizes off the wheel in one round, but has anyone ever collected all 4 or even 3?
I know that there were cars occasionally as Wheel prizes until the 1994-1995 season, but I still wonder. Has there ever been a car as a wheel prize or Surprise after the 1993-1994 season was over?

I remember seeing on the 4000th episode on November 10, 2003, a clip of an American success story coming true on a late 1980s episode where someone won $44,300 by solving a rather small puzzle considering how much she won. Coincidentally enough, the puzzle was AN AMERICAN SUCCESS STORY. Does anyone remember that? I actually just checked the Wikia about this moment, and I learned it was from November 1986. I wonder how Terry from just under a year earlier would've felt if she were to have seen this.

Does anyone know what season the theme week Best Friends Week first debuted on Wheel of Fortune?

The best knowledge we have right now points to the week of January 16-20, 1995 - that would be Season 12, where it was labeled "My Best Friend." (Source: WoF History Wiki)

Can someone refuse to play the bonus round?
Say someone has the biggest clean sweep ever and wins over $106,000 and doesn't want to play the bonus round because of the tax burdens.
Would the show let them refuse and just go to the credits or something like that?

Can someone refuse to play the bonus round? Now why on earth would someone want to refuse to play the Bonus Round? It's more money or an expensive car! No. Just no. Someone cannot and would not refuse to play the Bonus Round. Period.

Would the show let them refuse and just go to the credits or something like that? 1) Nobody's going to win $106,000 in the main game. 2) Did you get the idea from various 1980s-early 90s video games? "Due to tax considerations, the [name of CPU-controlled family] will not be playing Fast Money." (Pretty sure one of the lame excuses was "a death in the family".) 3) The only circumstance where a Bonus Round wasn't played was from about 1986-89 if a tie happened on the daytime show.

Someone cannot and would not refuse to play the Bonus Round. Period. More money or an expensive car=more taxes. I'd say no if I won $100,000+ in the maingame.

^ Even though you could win more in the Bonus Round than if you just played the maingame (higher total in both rounds combined)...?
Or you could just lose the Bonus Round on purpose... (why, I don't know).

...but if you had more money, you could pay the taxes on it. Not wanting it makes no sense whatsoever...
As for the car, sell the sucker. Simple as that.
I believe you can refuse prizes...though nobody in their right mind would refuse cash, and you should also never refuse a sellable prize. Trips, however...refuse away!

I've heard from former contestants that there is a way to pay lower taxes on trips given away by the show. You can more or less find the same trip advertised at a lower price and then claim that on your taxes. Lets pretend you won a 7 night all inclusive trip to the Barbados at Sandals resort that the show states is valued at $6,800. Several contestants have said you can more or less log on to Expedia or something and research the exact same trip at the same date you took the trip and find the value that Expedia states. Lets say Expedia states the trip is actually valued $5,000 then with proof you can pay lower taxes based on the lower price. Of course you'd probably need an accountant to help you with that but several former contestants have had success doing so legally.
I don't mean to get off topic, just trying to say you may not have to pay as much taxes on trips as you think hence why you may not have to refuse a trip if taxes are an issue.
As for me if I won a luxury car I'd totally accept it and pay the taxes and then sell it and purchase a lower priced car with the hopes of making a profit!

Someone put on my timeline that the week of November 1, 1993 was on a cruise ship. Can anyone verify this? I've found no news or magazine sources confirming it.

I know Susan Stafford filled in for Vanna in 1986 on the Daytime show, but did Susan also fill-in on the Syndicated version as well?

Layout question. On a 1995 episode, I see [Round 2 prize], yellow $900, $250, [round 4 prize]. Is anything out of order there?

Yes. The Round 2 prize normally went on the blue $200 next to Lose A Turn. Sometimes it went on the orange $200 if the Surprise was already claimed, but never the pink $200.
This leads me to ask a similar question: Which location was more popular for the Double Play in Round 3--the pink $300 (between 700 and 600) or the pink $200 (between 400 and 900)? I know it was placed on 300 in most episodes that went 1000-3500-5000.
