I remember an episode from about 5 years ago where they showed the Used Letter/Jackpot/scoreboard monitor onscreen. Apparently Pat was amused that it showed the wrong destination for a Prize Puzzle trip a contestant had picked up earlier.
Anyone know any more about this?

What would happen if Pat landed on the Free Play in his final spin? Would he re spin, or would it count as $500 like it does in the main game?

I believe that would be an edit and re-spin. Somebody confirm that please...

They do edit it out and he re-spins. It happened on a very recent episode, actually.

I moved all of the posts from the "Free Play on Final Spin" thread to here since it's just a normal wheel question. Really no need of a separate thread for it.

When did they start using the themed wipes for the category strip? I don't remember seeing any until season 27.

I want to say it was Season 28. EDIT: Yep, it was 28.

I said 27 because I saw a clip of the guy who solved SHAGGY AND SCOOBY-DOO with only the S's showing. That was Pet Lovers' Week, and the category wipe was a dog running across the screen. And that was in S27. Were there any other wipes that season?

State Fair week had two pigs running across.
Most, if not all of the category strip graphics were done by Tommy Hall, who is a member here. I believe he joined the show in Season 27.

When was New York Week in Season 14? I found a clip from one of the episodes that week. I figure it must be near the very end of the season, as Vanna is very obviously pregnant in it.
Also, there was a Disneyland contest in 1991, as promoted by the Season 9 premiere week. Anyone know what it consisted of?

Whoever asked when they stopped showing the slow instant replay of what the contestant won in the bonus round, I believe it was after season 23, because I remember starting in season 24 up til now they stopped doing it.
Also, does anyone know why Pat will ask a contestant (yellow and blue in this case) to hand whatever prize they lose to a bankrupt back to him? Because in the past he would go over and take whatever prize they had accumlated.

The wiki states that November 14 and 21, 2005 were $100,000. I know the 14th was in New Orleans and it was a female because I remember Pat handed her the sweeper at the end of the show and told her to clean up. Who was the other to win on the 21st? That was a Culver City win, right? And, is that the closest that we've seen 2 $100,000 wins?

Does anybody know if there was ever a time in nighttime where the Final Spin was done without $5,000 on the Wheel besides the Ohio shows?

Never before/again. Even mid 90's shows with special stuff and only three rounds had $5,000 (they would skip either $2,500 or $3,500). Though I'm glad we're the trend breakers.

Indeed it was from Culver City. That is also the closest that any $100,000 wins have come. Has any other 3-round road show gone to Speed-Up in R3? I was surprised at how little gameplay there actually was on that Ohio episode that had R3 start as a Speed-Up.

I could have sworn I once saw a Hawaii 1996 show where they went into Speed-Up right after the fade-in from the post-R2 commercial. They played R2 with the $3,500 configuration.
Though the main reason I asked that question was because there were some shows around 1990 where they figured there was going to be some spare time so they played R4 without changing the Wheel, so in theory, the Final Spin could have occured then, no?

^ Not if they were using the 1-2/3-4/5 pacing. The third segment would have to have R5 at least be a Speed-Up.

During what season was the house minimum increased from $200 to $500. The earliest "proof" currently out there is by 1999, but other sources say Season 13. The N64 game released in Season 14 uses a $500 minimum as well.

When was the last season that there was only one locale?
