I mean, my email came on a Tuesday, but Wheel (IIRC) typically tapes W/Th/F so I'm guessing the contestant producers aren't gonna send many emails those days.

I think they notify the contestants on Wednesdays, typically. I just saw two tweets from the past few hours of being asked to tape in two weeks, one of them being August 13th. (And if I'm not mistaken, that person is our newest member)

My birthday, congratulations! In any event, the observation seems to be that the initial call/e-mail for taping does come on a Tuesday. I got the e-mail first, then a call to confirm later that day.
