Nicky...the "Modify" button exists for a reason. Please use it instead of posting five consecutive times within a short timespan. Thanks! Thanks! I'll try to figure out how to use it, and if I have trouble, I'll ask for help. It's simple. You just have to hit the 'Modify' button next to 'Delete' and 'Quote'. Now, I hope I quote your post right, it's large... How can you tell from that little shot that's not a real closeup of the wheel? And I don't notice a gift tag in that shot! Though I do trust that the gift tags are still there for other reasons, and I personally don't mind the gift tags. In fact, I was a bit disappointed when they reduced the amount of gift tags from 3 to 1. You're probably the only one on the forums that actually doesnt mind the gift tags. Anyone that goes in the chat knows that I cannot stand those stupid gift tags! Theyre basically useless, nobody truly needs them... besides, they're a gimmick. No, that would not be fair to get rid of the Prize Puzzle. It'd be very fair to get rid of the Prize Puzzle! In most games where it's in, the person that solved the Prize Puzzle wins the game. And the Prize Puzzle is usually too expensive of a prize... It's become a classic, and it's the one thing that viewers can also earn in every single episode. It was a classic... before they gave away trips to the Caribbean every episode. And all the viewers have to do is sign up on the Sony site! Not necessarily something that's earned. If the reason for that was so that it can't be the Jackpot Round, that I'm all for, since the Jackpot and Mystery Rounds should be about the option of contestants spinning as much as they can to try to win those prizes, while as for the Prize Puzzle, to quote Pat sometimes to contestants, "why did you solve that puzzle so quickly? Ooooh, it's a Prize Puzzle!" It is! That's what it should be about, I agree with you there, but 99% of contestants will just solve every puzzle immediately and that is... not good. Also, if this happened, they should go back to what they had in Season 27, having a BEFORE & AFTER or SAME NAME in every single episode, in either Round 2 or 3. I think that was a great addition, as it's a challenge for contestants to have a one word, one mention, two contexts type of puzzle in every episode, and those two categories were rarely in R1 last season (BEFORE & AFTER only in 3 episodes, SAME NAME in only one). Well, I think that would be nice to see. The word categories are one of my favorites.

-I cannot believe this theme week (w/ families competing) is actually leading off Season 29. It should have been later.
-With regards to TV QUOTES, I have to agree with jjc that this is a weird addition. I don't even know much about said quotes. MOVIE QUOTES would have been fine. It's nice that they're considering bringing back the trivia categories. It just isn't the same without these categories.
-Gift tags are OK by me. They seem to have some relation to the theme week.
-And yes, it would be a great idea to bring back $1,500. It's been a while since they had the smaller four-digit numbers. $5,000 in R3 and $6,000 used as the TDV for Round 4 and onward seem like good ideas.

I was hoping they would be getting a completely new set for Season 29. The current set used through this past season dates back to 2003 with the slight modifications in 2007 and 2009. Are they getting new sound effects as almost all the current sound effects have been used since July 1989?
Also, I'm hoping they'll change the theme song again, this time bringing back "Changing Keys"

They actually just got a brand new generic set this past season. It's got the same features, but the backdrop is completely different.

Changing Keys just wouldn't work today IMO. No matter which version you use, it sounds like the generation it came from. And you rarely get to hear more than 20 seconds of theme anyway, so what's the point?

I'd be happy with just the 2000 version of Happy Wheels...

I like that cue...but it doesn't work as a theme song. I would like to hear it used again on roadtrips, though!

Also, would you know if the 1/2 CAR system could be permanent next season? If so, that'd be like the $30,000 - $50,000 added to the BR, which was for one week in Season 19 before being permanent in Season 20?

I think on Sony boards, an semi-inside source said the 1/2 car wedges weren't likely to continue beyond this week. The rules were really convoluted overall, I don't really like the license plates getting reloaded. Someone apparently asked (on previous page I guess, I'm too lazy to go look right now ) if a completely fresh set is coming... you know, I think S30 could possibly be that time. It's clear Pat & Vanna will be starting the twilight of their careers (I think both will not see S35, honestly), and the good old, twice-a-decade overhaul of music, etc. may be well-timed. The 6000th episode is due in mid-late Season 31 if I recall correctly as well.

So would WoF getting a new "generic" set be like Jeopardy getting a new set two years ago or nowhere close to that? I did notice the backdrop changes in 2009 and again in 2010, but to me it doesn't look like as big of a change as back in 2003 when the gold borders were replaced by the current LEDs and plexiglass Was the previous backdrop first introduced in 2003 or 2004? So would it be safer to say that the previous set was 2003-2010 while the current set is 2010-present? Consecutive posts merged.

Today they are taping shows for "Spa Fantasy Week" airing Sept. 26th - 30th. If you look closely at the center screen monitor it looks like the half car license plate tags or something similar to it are both on the wheel covering the green $700 and blue $500 wedges if i'm not mistaken. (I doubt they are gift tags because all of the generic set pieces except for the prizes are on the wheel placed just the same as "Road Trip Week" back in season 28). This possibly could be a new feature for the upcoming season.

I wonder what those two things are, and if they're still going to have the prize wedges and gift tags. I don't really like how the Wild Card now covers $900, though. I hope they make up for this by adding higher values.

Color-wise, I think it looks nice, but I was talking about how it now covers the second-highest amount on the wheel, plus it looks a bit awkward next to Bankrupt.

Out of curiosity, what wedges were the 1/2 Car wedges placed over? I'm terrible at discerning the layout.

In that photo, it appears to be the blue $500 next to the red $900 and the green $700.

You know...I really can't tell if that's a 1/2 CAR wedge or not...it's a full-size wedge, and I don't see the second one. It could be a square-shaped gift tag...
It does seem senseless to add the car gimmick to the wheel; that could get expensive quickly...

Out of curiosity, what wedges were the 1/2 Car wedges placed over? I'm terrible at discerning the layout. In Season 28, over the orange $300 wedge next to the second Bankrupt (the one next to the top dollar value), and the blue $500 wedge closer to the other Bankrupt (near Free Play and Lose a Turn). Since it would mean two red wedges next to each other, the red $900 wedge was changed to blue for Rounds 1-3. Cu, there most likely is something on the blue $500 because you would be able to see at least part of the 5 otherwise. EDIT: After zooming in on the picture, it looks very much like this is a 1/2 Car Wedge/Tag. Check it out: That clearly says "1/2 Kia" using the Kia logo: So...it looks like the 1/2 Car gimmick is in fact permanent, plus since the wedge itself is gone, you don't have to land right in the middle to get it. Odd that my source didn't tell me about this...

I think it's great that the 1/2 CAR wedge is permanent, and it isn't just something that they had for only one week, making this similar to $30,000 - $50,000 for one week in Season 19 before becoming permanent in Season 20. And it's nice to see the WC move and the $900 color change being permanent to accommodate it. And having cars in the maingame again, as well as two chances to win both cars and trips is great too.
However, one thing I wonder that'll be different, besides not only covering the middle part of the wedge -- I believe during Road Trip week, if it was won in Round 1 or 2, was put back on the wheel for the following round. I really hope that this time, like any other prize, it should not be put back, and contestants should keep their half for all of Rounds 1 - 3, or until they claim the second half. However, one thing I do wonder is what would happen is if one contestant picked up one half and another contestant picked up the second half, what would the second contestant win?
Also, with two cars in the maingame again, I wonder if the 1/2 CAR car will be on the set, again in the area behind Pat. I really hope so because that area seemed a bit barren in Seasons 26 - 28.
I also wonder if just maybe, it could be only one Round, and Round 2 would make sense since that's not a special round.
As for the mysterious blue wedge, I think it's going to be the new Jackpot wedge, since there's also the $2500, so obviously Round 1.
