Official Season 29 Information (SPOILERS)

*sigh*... well... yeah.

The Prize on the Wheel may have been replaced with this - 350 is barren. If they're really going to go with this with two full wedges, that very well may have been the sacrifice. I wonder if they will keep with the rules we saw on the Thursday episode that week (and I hope a press release spells out these details so I can code it right!!).

The constant reloading back to two ensures there's no situation where two contestants have two halves... but still... there would be some weird rules... I get pretty anxious when I don't know the exact rules of things...

For those of you who are worried about prizes on the show, don't worry, they usually load the wheel just before taping begins so I personally think prizes, gift tags, cars in the bonus round and the brand new 1/2 tag for "cheap cars" is here to stay on the show. Today they are taping episodes for the week of October 10th - 14th called "Bed and Breakfast Week". Check out a photo of the set on the wheel of fortune facebook page.

Wasn't the gift tag a sponsored prize? It wouldn't cost the show anything (or very little) if this were the case...

The opening has the Wheel well out of place sometimes, and it ends up OK before first spin.

Face it - in budget terms a semi-rare to maybe rare, ~15k max car win balances out a common to maybe semi-rare trip win and no more gift tag. This will also force the PP into being related to the theme instead of always counting on Hawaii once a week maybe, which would be nice. A QUARTER (6/24) of the Wheel at the start was going to be cardboard, now they're swapping out 2 for 2, keeping it at the 4. It's happening, and I welcome the change even if 1/2 car ends up still being complicated.

What is the need of themed weeks WITHOUT trips on the Wheel and gift tags? There can still be sponsors on the prize puzzle, even varying Jackpot round stuff... there's no way they're going in with 6 cardboard wedges, there just isn't. The picture CONFIRMS it, there's no way that is some half-prepared Wheel.

rashad, are you even paying attention to what cu is pointing out? Maintaining this the whole season will probably cost at most about 250k more in a season (that's a bit over fifteen 5k car wins, I'm guessing but a max of about 10% of the time sounds right). They need to slash that somewhere, and the easiest balancing act is to remove the other cardboard with immediate $ value. More may be needed.

It seems like Wheel's Facebook is posting sets as they tape, which is cool. Hopefully more is revealed with these as we go, or from Mario's source.

Yes that's correct. Depending on whether they stick to the second Monday after Labor Day season premiere, or if it has to do with the 10th anniversary of 9/11 news coverage on 9/12 and Season 30 will be back to the Monday after Labor Day, it'll be April 4 or 11, 2014.



Could you send the link? Is it scenic, or the updated version of the old dips and columns? I hope the former, since January 7 - 11, 2008 was scenic. And would you know what October 3 - 7 is, and also possibly October 17 - 21? Because I'm guessing those have taped already, since one taped July 21 and the other July 22, most likely in chronological order. I'm guessing Fall Foliage for October 3 - 7. I'm guessing that if we know October 3 - 7 alone, we'll know all five sets for the first compilation week, because my guess is that'll be October 31 - November 4, with Monday Halloween, and that full set week will be October 24 - 28. That'll avoid the craziness last season with Get Out of Town.

Incidentally, do you realize this coincidence -- for two consecutive years, Columbus Day week has the same theme name as the week after New Year's of exactly 4 seasons before. January 8 - 12, 2007 and October 11 - 15, 2010 The Good Life, and January 7 - 11, 2008 and October 10 - 14, 2011 Bed & Breakfast.

Why does Family Feud come to mind?


Personally, I want to see the puzzleboard be a neat 4×14 rectangle with the monitors in the corners there. I realize that the "really stretched plus sign" shape has become a bit iconic these days but a slightly bigger board doesn't hurt. Maybe change the border a bit not just to accommodate, but also to keep it from being too bland. (Personally, I like how France and the countries that use its set as a model change the border color to match that of the current player.)
