From a member of gameshow.ipbhost.com/... I like this change of the Prize Puzzles. I've had enough of all these "I will be away"-type phrases and weirdly-worded WAYD? puzzles. Maybe Before & After and Same Name puzzles will be used in this case...

Can't say I care much about the Prize Puzzles, but at least they won't be as blatant this season.
I do, however, like the way that it seems the 1/2 Car tags will work. Keeping two of them on the Wheel at all times eliminates the odd circumstance where two players could each take a half and make the car unobtainable (e.g. High Rollers 1974-6). Solving to keep the tags is consistent with the way the MDW is run, so that's fair.
The only gripes I have with the 1/2 Car concept are the cardboard overcrowding (my opinion: dump the gift tag) and the Wild Card's move to $900 (granted, there is another one out there, but please don't cover up the second-highest value on the Wheel). Hopefully, the new additions work out nicely and maybe we can see some adjustments in Season 30.

Am I the only one that likes the WC on $900?

I can't deny that it looks nice on the pink wedge there, but covering up one of the two biggest 3-digit values on the wheel is kind of a dumb move (IMO). That's why, when I did my wheel layouts, I put the WC on a pink $300 in the same approximate location to where the pink $900 is on the real wheel (basically, the next wedge over).

To have the Wild Card on the pink $900 like it was on Road Trip week, I wasn't too fond. I wish it'd be on the purple $600 on the other side of that Bankrupt.
I remember that before the debut of the Wild Card, a gift tag used to be on that teal $700 space (while the space was still blue), and before that on the red $900.
As for the other purple $600 space, the one that the Bankrupt wedge is now covering, I wonder if we'll ever see that again. Same story for the yellow $400 space the Free Play wedge is now covering.
Even so, I am looking forward to the effects for the show, such as the Prize Puzzle, the featured prize. I mean season 28 was just like season 27 with only a couple differences - the logos, and the new bonus round rules.
BTW, I'm trying to figure out the computerized wheel used for "Tonight's Feautured Prize" that was used in seasons 27 and 28 - the first computerized wheel to have a Bankrupt since the WOF logo used from 1992 to 1994 and the intro from 2001.

They wouldn't do that since it would mean two special spaces next to each other. That's the reason they removed th WC from $700 in the first place.

Well, you have a point mystery wedge. After all in round three, you'd have the Wild Card, Free Play, and one of the Mystery Wedges, all sandwiched between a Bankrupt and a Lose A Turn.
But I remember times back in the early 90s where the Free Spin token were right beside the top dollar values of $1000 and $2500. To add to that in the Graphix Zone PC game, it was on the orange $200 right by the pink $2500.

From a member of gameshow.ipbhost.com/... I like this change of the Prize Puzzles. I've had enough of all these "I will be away"-type phrases and weirdly-worded WAYD? puzzles. Yes I agree!!!!! If I have to see another puzzle with the words SAND or BEACH I'll faint! Maybe Before & After and Same Name puzzles will be used in this case... Yes!!!!!!!! And maybe this could inspire them to bring back the rule from Season 27 that every episode must have one of those two categories in every episode and a maximum of one SAME NAME per week (remember only 4 episodes had neither category. It officially went into effect on October 12, 2009, before which in Season 27 only September 18 (with board member Brian Levine), September 30, and October 9 having neither category, and since then, the only Season 27 episode to have neither category April 12, 2010, which instead is the only known episode to have two non-Tossup maingame puzzles of the same category -- PHRASE in Rounds 3 and 4 (My guess is Round 3 was originally going to be BEFORE & AFTER (there was a SAME NAME later that week), but they had to get rid of it because of a problem such as maybe an audience member shouting out the solution or something like that). Anyway, I'm sure the rule stopped because of both the Prize Puzzle no longer in Round 1 (something I'll never understand), as well as either category rarely in Round 1 (and in fact, only four episodes had it -- December 17, 2010, January 4, 2011 (the only one with SAME NAME), May 5, 2011, and June 9, 2011 (the last with either category of the season). Because maybe they felt like in each episode, it wouldn't make sense to have both Round 2 and 3 have special rules (one the Prize Puzzle, one a BEFORE & AFTER or SAME NAME). In Season 27, that wasn't the case because with the Prize Puzzle in Round 1, Round 2 could be BEFORE & AFTER or SAME NAME and Round 3, with no special rules (or vice versa). And now that could happen again! Although first of all, if you may recall from back in Season 21 when the Prize Puzzle debuted, there actually has been a BEFORE & AFTER prize puzzle, on November 5, 2003, when they were in my hometown of New York. It was something like KISS ME I'M IRISH SETTER. But that was the only time they ever had it, to my knowledge. Also, another interesting thing they could have the one word in the Prize Puzzle in every episode, and maybe even have a $3000 question or something like that for the word in the puzzle that's related to the prize. It could happen after Pat reveals what the prize is.

I get it now...but it's not a real concern. No native English speaker would pronounce it that way.

I don't think so either. But I do want to review with you all, both through seeing this week's rerun and through looking at the posts here, how the 1/2 CAR system will work:
No matter what, there are always two 1/2 CAR wedges on the wheel at the start of all of Rounds 1 - 3. If a contestant picks up one, (s)he can keep it until the end of Round 3, hoping to pick up the second one without hitting a Bankrupt. Because each of Rounds 1 - 3 starts with a 1/2 CAR wedge, whenever it's landed on, it's always picked up, so even if one contestant picks up a 1/2 CAR wedge, whether in a later round or later in the same round, it's always picked up, so there could be up to three cars won. Though that leaves the mystery (no pun intended, considering what round I'm talking about here) of what happens if one contestant picks up one half and then the other picks up the other half in Round 3? Is it treated like the dollar amount it covers? And same if a contestant should land on one of the 1/2 CAR wedges a third time after having won h(is)(er) car? Could you please answer that and correct all this, to the best of your knowledge?
Also, could this mean that there are no cars in the BR anymore, and it's cash only just like the first few weeks of Season 27? Do you think the car on the set of Spa Fantasy is a Kia?

First of all, I don't think the Bonus Round cars will be going away. Those are more of the luxury/high-end variety of cars as opposed to the budget-level ones that will likely be offered in the front game.
As for having the maingame car on the set, I don't know, because I don't have sources like the other folks do. However, I'd speculate that they would do like they did in Road Trip Week (re-running this week for our convenience) and do the maingame car's description as a video package. The cars on the set are more likely the Bonus Round cars (as per usual).
Finally, as regards the mechanics of the 1/2 Car tags, I don't think they will give away more than one car per show. Once somebody wins a car, they will probably retire the tags for the night (again, speculation on my part, but that seems the most likely way to do it). As for the circumstance of two different players picking up a half in Round 3, I would say that, like on High Rollers, both players would be SOL unless they already had a half (once more, just speculation).
Referring to Road Trip week, it seems like they did award the dollar value ($500) of the wedge when a tag was picked up (source: the Monday show) and I would hope they continue to do so.

(my opinion: dump the gift tag) Oh no, another sponsor! Well, now that we know the rules are exactly the same as April (again, I ask, I thought I heard that the producers were leaning towards not bringing this back - did Kia offer to fully sponsor the extra car or something??), the only things I really need to know for WOFTracker are what happens when a contestant lands on a third half, and when the car price is named. I'm going to guess it's 700/500, the amounts below, and only when it's won for now and code it in soon. And yes, I'm aware my budget arguments ended up being wrong - it happens. I'm thinking now Kia gave a very favorable sponsor deal. Now we need to figure out whether clue categories are coming back or not. EDIT: Oh shoot, I didn't really think about what happens if a car is won... Mario, go find out for us please ... there's still so much to figure out about this....

I'm wondering if a car is won, will the value of the car be added to their total. If so, this is really not fair at all. The other 2 contestants might as well give up and go home, they have no hope in getting to the bonus round.
