Can you solve this one?
S17, EPISODE #3160: HALLOWEEN WEEK
Airdate: 10/29/99
The answer is a magazine - VOGUE.
Last players this week:
Jennifer Swift: Oklahoma City. Real estate agent who's married to David (he's in the audience) with 2 kids.
Adam Myers: Okeana, OH. Cincinnati State student and engineer at a company that builds automated machinery for factories. He's also married (his wife's from Alaska; she couldn't make it due to visiting family) and loves to sing and write music.
Shirley Broussard: Long Beach, CA. State adjudicator in the employment development department as an employment representative who has 4 young adults and plans to go to law school in fall 2000.
Adam solves HORSEBACK RIDER. Let's see if he can turn that 4 into a 7...
Yes, Adam. STIRRUPS are essential for horseback riding.
DUD: T (Jennifer)
1ST PRIZE ADDED TO WHEEL: 3d/2n trip to San Francisco + limousine ride to the Jelly Bean Factory in Fairfield w/ VIP sampling tour (marked HALLOWEEN), $2,500
PERFECTION! There were some multiples left behind, but Adam remembers MICHAEL JACKSON'S GRAMMY-WINNING "THRILLER".
2ND PRIZE ADDED TO WHEEL: antique deluxe popcorn cart + year's supply of Jolly Time popcorn w/ resealable bags + Breakmate soft drink dispenser (marked INTERMISSION), $3,425
JACKPOT ROUND
"Still no M." - Pat
Jennifer solves FALSE TOOTH FAIRY.
AIRED DUDS: M (Shirley), N (Jennifer), D (Adam)
AIRED LOSE A TURN: Shirley
LEFT BEHIND IN POT: $13,050
By spotting some AMPHIBIANS & REPTILES, Jennifer's won the movie package. Oh come on! We can't play another puzzle?
DUD: D (Adam)
LOSE A TURN: Shirley
BANKRUPT: Jennifer
FINAL SCORES
WINNINGS SO FAR: $25,275
BANKRUPT TRASH: $500
BONUS ROUND
The INTERMISSION wedge can still be seen on the red ledge.
LETTER PICKED: W (gong sound)
RSTLNE gives Adam a couple:
MDGA just gives the vowel...
He guesses GARFIELD, CARLENE and WARLINE - the last one being closest to the actual answer of WARLOCK. This time, it was the Pickup (envelope's top half is a Jack-O-Lantern) that can't be claimed.
ADAM'S FINAL TOTAL: $13,650 (all cash)
Vanna plans to go trick-or-treating with her kids. Pat...well he dressed up as Charlie O'Donnell last year and kept getting gift certificates to health spas.
Full credit roll in the end.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Adam was dominant in the first half, but Jennifer definitely made it close in the end (and had time allowed for another puzzle, she could've won the game). It's another 6/10
This week gave away $145,366.
