No doubt in my mind they make the right choice here. Bellamie is fantastic at her job, as is the whole staff.
Wild postulation that kind of fits with personality and all, but NPH? Maybe?

Will Vanna follow? I remember they said that when Pat retires she would retire

Vanna's contracts are the same length as Pat's by, in my opinion, design.
I bet she's gone too. Watching for that to drop very, very soon. This isn't sourced but it's a highly educated rationale into the TV world.

Pat, over the past 40+ years, has been a major part of Wheel's identity. He will be missed.
So long as the Richards debacle isn't repeated, we should be fine.

😬
Pat and Vanna aren't nearly the "package" deal that they once were (to the point that this is the first contract announcement regarding one that didn't involve the other, period, since the daytime show ended 32 years ago.). The two have also reported had...differing...experiences since Bellamie took over. She's also a decade younger, and while Pat might be nearing 80 and ready to be done, she knows she has the chance to make a few more years of relatively easy money (that she can use for her own retirement, her own interests, family, etc) AND leave a perception that's a bit more than just "and Vanna White". I think she's also warmer to the fans and knows that her leaving at the same time would be really jarring and is aware.
Vanna could retire, and if she does announce I won't be surprised, but my money is on at least one more renewal of at least one more year, possibly a couple more.

I will miss Pat. I got an autograph from him in 2019. WOF will not be the same without Pat. Just like Jeopardy is not the same without Alex. I like both Mayim and Ken but they are not Alex Trebek. For Season 42, they will probably have one host for two weeks just like Jeopardy. Some of the Jeopardy guests hosts were better for Wheel instead of Jeopardy. Season 42 will also have the 8,000th episode. I think Vanna should still stay on for a little bit. Back in September I found an article that said Pat may retire.

By production numbers, Wheel’s 8000th episode will happen May 24, just two weeks before the end of S41. In reality, the actual count is off by 43.

It's an announcement we've seen coming for at least a couple of years now, though I am surprised he announced it so early before taping for season 41 begins. I'm sure most if not all of us have watched Pat and only Pat host (other than the late daytime years and a few episodes of the syndicated show), and it's difficult to imagine someone else hosting. Pat's run is simply incredible, and I'm very happy he is going to be able to retire with an official goodbye which Alex Trebek was not able to do. And yes, there is the question of what Vanna will decide to do. Maybe she decides to leave with him, maybe she'll stay a little longer. We'll find out. For Season 42, they will probably have one host for two weeks just like Jeopardy. I can't see them repeating what Jeopardy did after Alex died since it didn't exactly go over well. They have a little over a year to decide on the next Wheel host.

By production numbers, Wheel’s 8000th episode will happen May 24, just two weeks before the end of S41. In reality, the actual count is off by 43. I know. The real 8,000th episode will happen in Season 42. They could celebrate it on the real 8,000th episode or do it on May 24th. They didn't celebrate the 3,000th and the 4,000th episode on the actual episodes. They were celebrated in November due to November being sweeps. The 5,000th and the 7,000th episodes were celebrated on the actual episodes because they were during sweep months. The 5,000th was in February and the 7,000th was in May. The 6,000th was acknowledged on the actual show and then they had a Wheel 6000 week. I think the 8,000th should be celebrated on May 24th, so Pat is still the host. And, as I said, May is sweeps month. That would be a great way to say goodbye to Pat. For Season 42, they will probably have one host for two weeks just like Jeopardy. I can't see them repeating what Jeopardy did after Alex died since it didn't exactly go over well. They have a little over a year to decide on the next Wheel host. Yeah. They do have a year to decide. But I think I want to see the guest hosts like Jeopardy did so we see how each host does. And also, it would be nice to bring back the road shows, since that hasn't happened since Season 35. I was hoping there would be New York road shows in Season 40, but it didn't happen. How about Las Vegas? I always liked when they went to Vegas. It will be 10 years since the last Vegas road shows. The budget cuts stopped road shows in Season 33. I remember there was a Chicago road show planned in Season 33. And there was even international road shows planned for Season 33 too. Seasons 34 and 36 didn't have road shows also because of the budget. The Season 35 Disney World road shows were paid by Disney. Season 37 didn't have road shows even when there was no COVID. Of course, Seasons 38 and 39 didn't have any because of COVID. Season 40 had the COVID restrictions removed but still no road shows. This is the last season for Pat, so I think they should go on the road.

We have no evidence that #S-2535 existed. (On the contrary, please prove me wrong! We don't have evidence it *doesn't* exist either, but what we do have swings more likely towards it not.) Pat and Vanna aren't nearly the "package" deal that they once were (to the point that this is the first contract announcement regarding one that didn't involve the other, period, since the daytime show ended 32 years ago.). Jesus, has it really been that long since they had a contract renewal that didn't involve each other? As much as they've said when they're done they're going together, when the deal is finalized and the check is waiting to be signed, will she say no to millions of dollars? It wouldn't shock me to see her go for just a little longer, even if it's to form a bit of a passing of the torch on-air type deal.

We have no evidence that #S-2535 existed. (On the contrary, please prove me wrong! We don't have evidence it *doesn't* exist either, but what we do have swings more likely towards it not.) Well, the reason why I think #S-2535 existed because the 5,000th, 6,000th and 7,000th episodes were acknowledged on #S-5000, #S-6000,and #S-7000 respectively. I think they would've celebrated the milestone on the next show if #S-2535 didn't exist. Since Jeopardy celebrated their 8,000th episode on #8065. They took into account the 65 Season 1 reruns. Wheel didn't celebrate the milestone on the next show so that's why I feel #S-2535 existed. It would've been a Culver City episode. As I said earlier, the real 8,000th episode will be in Season 42.
