Today Pat is taping his final show as host. It’s a bittersweet day in Wheel history.

Yep, the end of a 42-year tenure. Wonder how many episodes (syndication, daytime, and primetime) he hosted in all?

So over 9,500 for Pat. I didn't know Vanna did more than 10,000 episodes.

^Hasn't the June 7th date been known for a while already? We all know June 7 will be the air date of Pat’s final show. The news is officially confirming the day of Pat’s final show to the public.

Pat's final taping day was supposed to be invite-only, but tickets for the 12:00 session did open up at the last minute a couple of times. I was fortunate to be in the audience for his fifth-through-third-to-last episodes.

I love the use of the traditional circular logo behind the word "Memories".

A public viewing of Pat's final episode will be held at The Yard, a public outdoor courtyard with a large screen in New Brunswick, New Jersey (about 40 miles from NYC and about 60 miles from Philadelphia). A crew from WABC will likely be present. Ad designed by yours truly. http://instagram.com/p/C7zI46AtxXR

One thing I'm curious about is they say Pat will be spinning the wheel for the final time and I wonder if that's speaking metaphorically or if he really will be spinning the wheel at least one more time for his last show, because he really doesn't do that anymore. He stopped with the opening spin back in 1990 and stopped doing the final spin a few seasons back, so 'technically' he spun the wheel for the last time back in season 38 unless we'll see something different on Friday's show.

Pat did mention last week on the 8000th show celebration that technically it's about the 12,000th show overall. Though he could have been joking, but I guess that's possible. He was presumably counting the Chuck Woolery, Rolf Bernishke and Bob Goen eras as well.

It would be fun for Pat to do the last Final Spin just for old times' sake though.

Well, maybe they'll have him do that in the closing chat. Though again with watching online I never really see the closing chat so NM.
