I'd advice making your best suggestions here, this person seems to work at Wheel.

I have 2: 1. Make vowels $500. 2. When the Million dollar wedge is lost (ex. Bankrupt) bring the wedge back the next round. This gives the player who lost the wedge another shot at gaining it back and it gives the other two players hope of getting the Million dollar wedge.

Dear Wheel of Fortune, here are my suggestions in personal order of plausibility (most likely to least likely):
* If a Prize, Gift Tag, Wild Card, or Million-Dollar Wedge is claimed but not won (or claimed and lost to Bankrupt), put it back on the Wheel for subsequent rounds. Once the Final Spin bells chime, remove whatever remains.
* Prize Puzzles, Wheel Prizes, and Mystery Rounds that offer something other than trips or cash.
* A $10,000 minimum for the big winner of the night if s/he has less than that amount and loses the Bonus Round. Four-digit "big winners" on Wheel were fine in the 1970s-90s, but not anymore.
* Bring back "Changing Keys". For many years, Wheel was identified by way of it, and the themes used since September 2000 just aren't the kind you happily get stuck in your head.
* Returning champions with no limits, because luck on the Wheel is half the point of the game.
* More regular four-digit wedges, like $1,500 and $2,000; second-highest in all rounds shouldn't be $900. Barring that, add $750, $850, and $950.
* Allow contestants from non-Sajak eras to come back. All the other game shows have this rule, so why not Wheel?
* An explanation for dubbing Jim over the other guest announcers this past Summer, and a real explanation for dubbing over Charlie O'Donnell after he died.
* Please acknowledge your real history, as you've been on for nearly 37 years straight. -Daniel

I know you don't really play a part regarding gameplay on the show, but this is for anybody from the show that might come across this... I have a pretty long list, so bear with me. I'll start with the bigger stuff first, then the smaller "pet peeves" of mine last. - The wheel. There's just too much stuff on it. I think the gift tag should go, and there should be higher values on the wheel. Add values like $1000 (besides the Mystery Wedge), $1500, or $2000 as the game progresses. Maybe even values like $650, $750, $850, or $950. There are only three spaces left that end in -50, so I'd either add more values like that, or change them to multiples of 100. - Vowels should cost $500 at least. - Use more one-word puzzles in the Bonus Round (but nothing less than 5 letters). No random adjective added for more difficulty (ex: "AVID HIKER"). - Choose better destinations for the Prize Puzzle trips. There used to be plenty of trips to places like Italy, France, Belgium, and Ireland, but now, since you guys practically refuse to go anywhere outside North America anymore (with a few rare exceptions), the trips are always the same. There are other popular destinations besides Hawaii and the Carribean. I understand this is probably because of budget problems, but Monday's St. Maarten trip was a pretty hefty $9,800. I'm pretty sure a lot of your overseas trips were less than that. - Better yet, consider offering prizes other than trips or cash again. What about something like a motorcycle, a living room group, or a home gym? - The $1,000 Toss Up should go. It will allow more gameplay time, plus viewers won't have to worry about missing any puzzles if they tune into the show about 30 seconds too late. - Try to use the "What Are You Doing?" category less often, because of the free gerund letters. If it is used, have the puzzle be something that people actually do a lot, and nothing fluffed with adjectives like "CALMLY READING A GOOD BOOK IN THE QUIET LIBRARY." - Use phrases that are actually common sayings and not just randomly thought up for a Prize Puzzle or to make a Bonus Round puzzle hard. No more "TELL THE PAPERBOY TO TAKE A WEEK OFF" or "WHAT A KICK." - Get the audience more hyped up. For some reason, they appear to have a problem with clapping during every spin and after every correct guess, but they were fine with it back in 1997. It's great that they shout "Go for it!", etc. when a contestant decides whether to flip the Mystery Wedge, but they need to genuinely cheer the contestants on like they used to. The usual studio audience needs to be just as loud and enthusiastic as the audiences on road shows. If somebody spins the top dollar value, light up the "applause" sign or something. It sounds very awkward when nobody besides Pat says anything, and it sounds even worse when the contestants "Whoo!" at themselves while the audience just sits there doing nothing. - To piggyback on the previous statement, enough with the pre-recorded cheering track that you've been using for years. I can never unhear that screaming woman in the track that sounds like a bad horror movie actress. It's become so burned into my brain that I have to mute during the Prize Puzzle trip description if I'm watching the show alone (I also can't watch any shows with laugh tracks for the same reason. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YguljAFU3Bc <-- This laugh is in just about every show that has laughter, live or not) There is no need to sweeten the audience with pre-recorded stock sounds that you licensed from other companies. I understand that the audience doesn't give the best response to everything. It can be pretty awkward when a contestant spins Lose a Turn and the only thing we hear is Pat saying "Sorry." But I know you guys occasionally dub in a pre-recorded "aww" during these moments. Instead of using stock sounds, here's an idea. Have somebody (preferably Jim) prompt the audience to make various reaction sounds, like cheers, groans, or applause for about a minute straight, all while recording them. Then, when they feel the audience needs more sound, use those sounds to make it sound less obvious that editing has been taking place. The sounds will be from the same people and nobody will notice a difference. Please take this method into consideration. This is how "The Price is Right" does their audience sweetening, but don't overdo it like they do. Thank you.

I basically agree with just about everything that's already been said- get rid of the $1000 Toss-up & Gift Tag. I would add I think that Vanna needs more of a speaking part than what she does have. I mean, yes, she does do B-Rolls and things along that line, but I think she should talk while she is at the puzzleboard. I think it would be a nice touch. Update the category strips; 3+ seasons with the same one is a little too long (but that's just a minor thing)...The wheel, update the wedges. Add some higher values. Top dollar values for each round: R1 $3500; R2 $3500, R3 $5000, & R4 and on $7500. This IS 2011, not 1987. And, yes, freshen up the set; neon for 8 years is too long. Other than that, I love everything else. Thank you!

I think it would be a nice touch. Give her a bunch of Susan Stafford episodes and tell her to study that woman's behavior. "Problem" solved.

Put a screen on the Jackpot wedge (like the Big Money wedge in the 25th season) that tells how much is in the jackpot.
Make vowels $500 each.
The Prize Puzzle should never be the same round as the Jackpot round or the Mystery round.
Spice up the Prize Puzzles and don't always include the words BEACH or SAND. That gets old real quick.
Bring back the green sparkly $1000 wedge.
Make the toss-up puzzles worth $2000, $3000, & $5000. It's pointless to have a toss-up puzzle worth $1000 since you get this anyways just for playing the game.
I've said this time after time, get rid of the specific categories. What's next, "IN THE BATHROOM" or "UNDER THE BED"? Make them short and sweet as it used to be.
Give Pat and Vanna more time to chat.

I don't think vowels should be $500 (due to contestants getting lower scores after each round nowadays). I really feel the $5000 wedge should be moved to round 3. It doesn't get much game play as the $2500 or $3500 wedges. Changing Keys should really make a comeback for the theme music of the show and the puzzle solve music should be a little more louder and profound. I think the Jackpot wedge should also have a monitor to show how much it is worth when each contestant spins. Vanna's role on the show is just fine (Just her letter touching is more than than enough for her). Also when the contestant brings the wild card to the bonus round the contestants should have the right to choose any letter they please instead of a consonant, and lastly change the now tired category strips!!!

I think it would be a nice touch. That would probably be too time consuming... and with the amount of time main game gameplay is, I'm surprised Pat gets to talk.

Well, I agree with Dylan, Vanna should talk more, Pat should just call the $/LAT/Prize/Bnkrupt and Vanna should do the letter frequency/isn't there

All of these ideas I'm reading are absolutely brilliant, especially about the set. Now, they can't keep the set like this forever. They'll have to replace that set with something fresh.

My idea > Make the jackpot wedge have monitor to tell the amount
> How about some home viewer puzzle contest?
> Make it flat $250 vowel
> Vanna should talks more. Maybe Vanna have a change to cheer the BR contestant so you won't get bored with Pat talking and talking (This maybe a bad idea though)
> Prize puzzle, make it furniture. And make it low! ( Like the office tools that was a prize puzzle on last college week)
> Try new set of wheel. You don't have to make changes. Just change the wedge position
>Have you think to make the set (especially the podium) going retro (Perhaps egg crate podium is the best) . I sees many complaint on you tube about the monitor podium
>If a Prize, Gift Tag, Wild Card, or Million-Dollar Wedge is claimed but not won (or claimed and lost to Bankrupt), put it back on the Wheel for next round (like 1/2 car).

Here's what I'd like: - Make the board a perfect 14×4 rectangle. The puzzle board arches aren't in the way anymore; there's no need to take the corner spaces out.
- Bring back $700.
- Personally, I think the price of vowels is fine, but if Wheel of Fortune needs to find money from somewhere I would support raising the cost of the vowel, given it hasn't been raised from $250 since the first episode in 1975.
More when I have time.

I've calculated the inflation from 1975, and, if they raised it based on the inflation rate, vowels would cost about $1,000.
I thought of a few more:
Update the top amounts for each round. Bring back the shot of the video wall showing the wheel spinning. Change the Jackpot design. Move the Bankrupt and Lose a Turn Wedges around again. I'm kinda tired of them being three spaces apart.

I've calculated the inflation from 1975, and, if they raised it based on the inflation rate, vowels would cost about $1,000. Vowels have been $250 since the Shopper's Bazaar pilot in 1973, about 15 months before the show debuted. Adjusting for inflation would give a "today" cost of about $1,250 -- certainly a number to give some pause, and one that would require going for high letter frequencies on lowball amounts (five on $300; four on $350 and $400; three each on $450-$600; and two on $800, $900, and the $1,000 Mystery Wedge).

- Make $1000 and/or $1200 permanent wedges on the wheel. - Change the arrangement of the different amounts on the wheel - get a different design for unused spaces on the puzzleboard, keep them green, but just change the design, its been the same since 1997. - get rid of the 3rd toss up and make the first two worth $2000 and $3000 - introduce Pat and Vanna separately like in the past. - Put the $5000 on the wheel from the 3rd round on. - make the prize puzzles for prizes of cash. eg= GETTING A FULL WORKOUT = home gym. TAKING A TRIP TO THE BANK = $10,000.
