When a contestant wins a prize during a taping of TPIR, does he or she receive the prize after the episode airs or after the episode is taped?
I am asking this because, since today's TPIR episode was pre-empted due to Barack Obama, and today's pre-empted episode may be a one-time airing only episode, is it possible that the episode may be scrapped and those same contestants may end up being invited back later in the season for an alternate taping with the same prizes offered and the same pricing games originally scheduled for today, and if the contestant loses the game on the alternate taping, the result from his/her first taping will still count (if it was originally a win), or if the game was lost the first time, if the contestant wins on the alternate taping, would the loss be discounted?
Also, did the West Coast get a rerun or a first-run today?

Typically after it airs. Receiving prizes right after tapedate, before the show airs, would spoil the outcome of the show...and the network guards VERY heavily against that (though they have no problems doing it themselves...)

As I said on the other board, Mountain time was a rerun today. I know this because I am in denver this weekend.

Probably wait until the airdate. I think WOF also do the same. I remember I read the rules in a website in a long time when contestants must wait for 120 days to get the cash & prizes.

I had a feeling that it would be after the airdate to prevent spoilers, regardless of what show it is.
Now, I had another question about The Price is Right, but I have another question before that. Since the topic regards a question about Price is Right, would this make a valid Price is Right question thread, moderators?

Might as well be. Go for it.

As a matter of fact, if a game show never shows the episode you were in on the air, they never have to give you the prizes.
Of course, most shows choose to give the prizes anyway since it would be bad publicity if they didn't.
However, once your episode does air, the clock begins ticking down for the show to get your prizes to you.
If they fail to do so in a predetermined amount of time (120 days), then you can go after them for what you won.
EDIT: Fixed length of time based on more research.

Thank you, CU.
In the showcase, when the differences of the bids and actual retail prices are revealed, what happens if the players' differences are identical?
For example, one playe's bid is under by $7350 and the other player's bid is also under by $7350. What happens if something like that occurs?

They each win their respective Showcase. If both bids happen to be within $250 of the actual retail price, they both win both Showcases.

And if both players happen to tie within the DSW range on an MDS ($1,000 early on, $500 later), they would each win $1,000,000 as well.
(And then the insurance company throws a hissy fit.)

Since this is now made a valid TPIR Question thread, I do have two questions regarding TPIR in Primetime:
1. What were the pricing game lineups in the 1986 Primetime Specials during August and September 1986?
2. I tried to find it on Wikipedia, but to no avail - what pricing games were designated as Million Dollar Pricing Games? I know Clock Game, Plinko, Half Off and Cover Up were four of them. What were the others?

For the primetime layouts, see the top of this page: tpirsummaries.8m.com/Calendars/Season_15_games.htmlFor the Million Dollar Games, Golden-Road's timeline has them listed by MDS - here's a list of the ones I found and their winning conditions: > One Away: car price right the first time > Safe Crackers: price the car correctly > Range Game: guess price exactly, guesses limited to the covered range > Plinko: drop golden chip in $20,000 slot > Half Off: find the million in one of the 15 non-winning boxes > Cover Up: win in one turn > Punch a Bunch: find the $50,000 on the first punch > Switcheroo: win in one turn > Clock Game: win in 10 seconds For more detail, see Kori's link.

It is important to note also that 1/2 Off and Safe Crackers involved contestants risking their prizes for a chance at the million dollars.
Which is not something Goodson would have done...

Also important to note that 1/2 Off, Safe Crackers, and Plinko had to be won (or in Plinko's case, $60,000 had to be won) in order to go for the million dollar feat.

I do have one question regarding one of the current models:
When Amber Lancaster debuted on TPIR in March 2008, was she hired as Gwendolyn Osbourne's maternity leave replacement?

Doubtful. When Amber was hired (and Gwen left), the show still had a rotation of about eight or so models...they didn't need a replacement for Gwen. Plus, they had just hired Tamiko Nash shortly before...
TPIR didn't go to five models total until the middle of season 37, then the current four until early in season 39.

Are there any Season 40 episodes to date where a car other than a 2012 model was given away and the episode guide on qwizx.com doesn't indicate this?

Other than the vintage cars (which the show shouldn't be offering, but that's for another thread), no.

I do have a question to ask regarding Clock Game:
I heard that the game offered a car as the second prize on one occasion in 1984 (February 9, 1984?). Were there other occasions in which a car was offered on Clock Game during its run? And if so, what dates did they originally air?
With the bonus third prize being offered on Clock Game nowadays (that you don't have to bid on), I can see a car being offered as a bonus prize someday.
