Turkey's Çarkifelek

That last video was from an era of Turkish that I never thought existed. It was uploaded back on the 4th, and I never saw it until yesterday (which was also when I found that Chilean clip although that had been uploaded in 2009).

This Turkish version (from about 1993 or so) was very amusing for me to watch. Although the Wheel's layout never changed, the atmosphere's sights and sounds made me watch it over and over again. I think it's my favorite era for Turkish Wheel of Fortune.

Some interesting things to note. This version uses shopping, but it thankfully goes by much more quickly than our version's shopping segments did. The Wheel's values are in thousands of liras, so landing on the top value means that instead of 10,000, one is playing for 10 million liras per occurrence. Vowels cost one million lira (if not half a million for each occurrence). At the time, Turkey's lira was losing value quickly. A new lira was introduced on New Years Day 2005 and Turkey has been using that lira ever since, although transition from old to new lasted until New Years Eve 2008.

Folks, I remember putting on the Wiki that Turkish Wheel may be airing on the Turkish channel ATV. Well, I have some bad news. It will not be airing there.

But I have some good news. I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO. No, just kidding. :lol:

The real good news is it will be airing new episodes on Kanal D, and not the Romanian Kanal D that Roata Norocului airs on!

The good news does not end there. Check out this video, and you will see something from yours truly. It's my recreation of the 1992 layout! Guys, I'm not upset that they used my illustration. In fact, I cannot even begin to tell you how honored I am that they're using it.

I'm sure that almost anyone would be. Anyway, here's some more Turkish Wheel! This is an episode from February 2000.

This episode certainly shows how odd Turkish Wheel really is compared to other versions. Two rounds and a bonus round that's not even played this episode.

Between the two rounds is what appears to be a Shopping or Pick Your Prize segment followed by music performed by the contestant themselves. Does the music during the Shopping segment sound familiar?

I do have plans to make the layout used, but only after I figure out what is under the Prize wedge. There also seem to be some values underneath both 4500 wedges, the 3500 wedge, and even the 7500 wedge.

Not bad for what they've done so far.

Can't blame you. I do the same thing. In fact, that's why I said at the Wikia last night that this was an odd version.

I kinda hate the remodel on their puzzleboard

Something about the colors don't sit well with me and plus something about the spacing of the puzzleboard and that extra border is just like, blah. Not to mention it just seems basic, like people on here could've come up with something better on PPT. I guess what I'm saying it doesn't look very sophisticated.
