"(Some contestants will receive)...a copy of GameTek's newest edition of 'Wheel of Fortune'. For playing at your computer at home or on the road." I would take it that this is the version that was released exclusively for Windows 95? Did they show a picture of it? Duh...I reread Mario's post... I will have to find that video and watch it....I so wish we knew more about that version! I bet it had the late 1995-Feb. 1997 puzzle border, 1994-1997 solve cue, and complete and clean 1994-1997 theme. I wonder what would happen if we could someway e-mail Microsoft and ask them if they knew about or even remembered this version of the game?

I've been looking everywhere on the Net for the Windows 95 version. Everywhere! In fact, just as long as I have been waiting for a WOF Live Play unit to get into my hands if not longer. Has anyone here been able to get in hold with Matt Ottinger about this? I'm now considering to add the Win 95 Deluxe version to the list.

I am friends with him on Facebook. I could get in contact with him that way. What questions would you want me to ask him?

Here's a screencap from the plug: It looks like that IS the box for the Windows 95 Deluxe game on the right. I'm pretty sure the one on the left is a Mac version of an earlier game.

Is the picture inside the computer screen from the Win95 computer version? If it is, that shoots holes in every theory I had of what the game looked like....I vaguely remember seeing the game in stores when it was released (I was only 5 at the time.), and the only thing I really even remember is that the set was black and there were live people as contestants just as in the Sony version for Sega CD and PC....I wish I knew more or could find more information! It's driving me crazy!
By the way, I sent a message to Matt Ottinger via Facebook early last week, and I still have yet to receive a reply...I may try e-mailing him, instead.

I doubt it. It's just a still photo in the episode, not footage from the game. You can tell that's an actual picture of the board too, not digitized for a game.

I agree, but I do have the box of the Windows 3.1 version, and on the back of it is a picture that clearly looks like it's been digitized, yet I can't find it among the files of the game. It looks like this photo, only the logo is at dead center, there are no people, and the backdrops are the ones from season 10. Once I can find the box, I'll scan the shot and show it to you. Chances are the shot I'm talking about is from the DOS version of the Deluxe Edition, however. Fixed awkward formatting. Images shouldn't go in the middle of sentences.

The white box to the left of the laptop looks like the box from the last of the WoF NES games.

I doubt they'd be advertising the NES adaption of Wheel with Vanna back in the mid 90s. That could be the Windows/Mac adaption of such an edition. There's really one difference when it comes to the boxart of these editions - which part of the wheel is shown.

The SNES and Genesis adaptations are there. It would stand to reason that it's the NES box. The dimensions are definitely correct.

So, after some searching about any traces about the DVD game, I found the website of someone who worked on both it and the J! game. Click on "Directing" for some amazing CGI visuals that were so unfortunate to go to waste: www.lawrenceeverson.com/ I sent him an E-mail asking about the game, and here was his kind reply: I wonder what these "converging factors" were. Wish he would have elaborated a bit more on those. Must be private stuff. Oh, well. At least now we know that it wasn't unfinished enough for there to be any copies.

I saved the site to my Favorites folder as well my Goodness folder because that was just awesome! The 3D graphics were great! I'm glad we got to see a taste of what it would've been like. Thanks for showing us, MarioGS!
And like I said, this is a great example of telling us what you know about any WOF games that never made it to store shelves.
And I just remembered hearing that Wheel of Fortune Live Play made some commercials. So if anyone has any episodes from late 2004 containing commercials of it, please show them to us. Maybe we'll have a more visual taste of what it would have been like as well.
Also, I have a couple Wheel of Fortune games made for the Mac, both of which are too old to work on the current Mac OS. One is a Vanna White edition on a 3.5" floppy. The other is on a CD-ROM. I'd love to show you what both are like, but I have no Macintosh computers of any kind. Both are waiting to be played on one again.
I also heard there is a Deluxe edition made for MS-DOS. Not Windows 95, not Windows 3.1, but MS-DOS. There is a colored band at the top that tells whether it's for Windows (blue) or DOS (pink). If anyone finds the MS-DOS version somewhere, please let us know about that as well.

Deluxe for DOS? Do you mean the "Featuring Vanna White" edition? If so, I have that one as a ROM file with the DOSBox emulator.

No, not the Vanna White Edition - not the one with the white box if that's the one you have, although I have that very edition for the Macintosh. There was indeed a Deluxe Edition for MS-DOS. Here are some shots of the boxart of the Deluxe Edition that I have - the one for Windows 3.1. When it comes to the boxart, the only difference between the Windows and DOS versions of the Deluxe edition is the color of the band on top. The Windows 3.1 Deluxe Edition has a blue band as shown. The MS-DOS version has a pink band. Here's a screenshot taken from the back of the box. Since I can't find a shot that resembles this on the Windows 3.1 version (which is also offered on abandonware sites), I believe this is from the MS-DOS version (which I'd love to have but can't find). Now as I stated earlier in this post, I have the Macintosh version of the Vanna White edition. It supports Macintosh Plus or later models. It's compatible with OS 6, OS 7, or later, although I do not believe that it works on OS 10 (or OSX). I also have a CD-ROM version which is also for Macintosh. I tried installing it on a Mac running OSX and the game was too old to run on it. If anyone still has Mac OS 6 or 7 or knows of a good emulator for either of these Macitosh operating systems, please let me know.

I got it off of Ebay a few years ago, but I haven't seen it there since I got it.
Once I get myself something that can run this properly, I'll show you a video.
