I remember one of your Wheel layouts being used on a few other eBay items. Besides, the one posted to Wikipedia has been used many times.

Indeed it has. I have a few apps with that layout. One of them is Wheel Spin by MyBloomShop. The only difference to the bare layout besides the Free Spin on the $550 and the Surpize (yes, it's inadvertently spelled without the second R) is what's under the latter wedge. Instead of $900, it's $950, a value yet to be played for on American Wheel. Wheel Spin is still up, but it replaced Wheel of Money, which used a picture I put up over at Flickr a few years ago. app.iwire.jp/apps/338508898/Wheel%20of%20Money/Unfortunately, I never knew about Wheel of Money until after it was replaced by Wheel Spin. I've tried finding it on other sites with no luck. If anyone still has this app, please let me know.

The iTunes Store no longer has it. So if there's a link to getting it on the iTunes Store, it's now a dead link. Hopefully there will be some archive with it as well as another lost WOF-type app called Fortune Spin. Fortune Spin was made in Turkey and was translated into four different languages, Turkish and English being two of them. The app was removed with no updates due to harshly negative reviews. I would probably be one of the few that would've enjoyed this. Despite its removal, screenshots do exist, and from those shots, I made this. germanname.deviantart.com/art/Fortune-Spin-Wheel-305014281Note how each of the values are individually color-coded.

There is an arcade game called Treasure Quest. It's simple. All you have to do is spin a big wheel and try to land on the space that scores you the most tickets. If you were to take that wheel and make it all wedges it would probably look like this:

I have that game at my arcade, but I still wish it had a WOF or TPIR theme.

Are those layouts for the HYO games you're hosting? Other than that, that's the best damn job I've ever seen. ;D

The "format" that the show currently uses is somewhat wrong in my opinion. Having the TDV the only regular 4-digit value doesn't seem right. To tell the truth, the best Wheel layouts I've ever seen were those of the 1974 pilots (except I would have had the space to the right of the Bankrupt $75 in the third round and $100 in the fourth round). I also really liked the fact that the penalty spaces were always surrounded by really large and really small amounts. I really liked the layout your other ones had, Mario. I think some values should increase round to round. The ones you have here look pretty good, but I think that there should be a few more 4-digit values, some of which should be added in round 3. These are the layouts I sent to Mario in a PM (only slightly different): The Bankrupt that is there the whole game is surrounded by the highest and lowest amounts of the round. The Lose a Turns are also the same way. -Mario's "Item" Wedge would be the yellow $300/700. -The MDW would be over the $550. -The 1/2 Car tags would go over the blue $500 near the add-on Bankrupt and over the green $500 by the blue $600. -The Prize Wedges would be over the red $300/$600. -The Mystery Wedges would go over the red $1000 and the purple $400, in round 2. -The Jackpot wedge would go over the pink $450, in round 1.

I'm not sure just yet, gs75. I might stick with my current HYO layouts with a few changes, as I always liked adding a second LAT for R4 and having the two pairs of penalties perpendicular to each other (inspired by Spain's version, which has all four on for the whole game).
And William, I understand about the four-digit values, but these are just a more practical approach for the show. I really don't see them putting 1500+ on the Wheel before R4, if at all, anytime soon unfortunately...

I'm gonna bring down things a little here. I'm not crazy about the layouts Mario. The dollar values I can work around but the colour scheme is very disconnected and bland.

I've just made a Wheel of Fortune illustration in honor of Spirit Day 2012. Spirit Day is celebrated every October 20th and raises awareness of bullying. If purple is one of your favorite colors and you have been bullied and/or discriminated (I'm one of those who fit both of these two criterias), this day is for you. germanname.deviantart.com/art/Spirit-Day-2012-Wheel-of-Fortune-333124160

I remember hearing about a Wheel of Fortune spoof that was on Sesame Street back in the mid-1980s called "Squeal of Fortune". I didn't view the clip myself, as I am not allowed to view Sesame Street in any form. But the clip may exist on YouTube if anybody would like to do a recreation of the wheel used in "Squeal of Fortune". Could somebody please recreate the wheel from that spoof?
If this has no direct relation to Wheel of Fortune layouts, please move this thread to the appropriate forum.

The layout on Squeal of Fortune had no numbers.

I remember seeing that. Cute. I was thinking about making the Wheel on mine so that it alternated between red/orange/yellow wedges, but I didn't feel like making a whole new layout just for that. Maybe some other time.

Thought up these layouts during Hurricane Sandy (and managed to remember them when I got my power back) and if I host an HYO show in the future, these would be my wheel layouts (assuming I don't nitpick and change them again):
Rounds 1 & 2:
LOSE A TURN $800 $700 $600 BANKRUPT $200 ($900 in Round 2) $400 (Free Spin) $500 $650 $300 $400 $550 (MDW) $800 $500 $350 $700 $250 ($600 in Round 2) $2,000 ($3,000 in Round 2) $400 $500 $900 (Wild Card) $450 $550 (Prize in Round 2) $300
Round 3:
LOSE A TURN $900 $750 $600 $800 $700 $600 (Prize #2) $500 BANKRUPT $1,000 $400 $550 $900 Jackpot $450 BANKRUPT $650 $500 $4,000 $700 $600 $500 $400 (Prize) $800
Round 4:
LOSE A TURN $900 $750 $600 $800 $700 $600 (Prize #2) $500 BANKRUPT $1,500 $700 $550 $900 $800 $650 $5,000 (same color as usual) BANKRUPT $850 $750 $500 (Prize) $1,000 $600 $700 $800

I want to make those. They look good, and $1500's next to the Bankrupt, just the way I like it.
