Roda a Roda (Brazil)

Probably not a bad idea, but don't just do it for this game; do it for the entire subject of when Brazil's version was known as Roletrando.

That's exactly how I think how the puzzle board worked.

Anyway, over a year ago, I mentioned that I was trying to find an episode of Roda A Roda from 2005 or 2006 or around that time frame because I've been trying to find out the value of that Bankrupt/$10,000/Bankrupt look alike. Well, someone over at DeviantArt who is a big Brazilian Wheel fan just became my best Brazilian friend because not only he told me that the value in between was $5000 (he previously believed it was $3000), but he also showed a full episode from that era. The episode (which originally aired April 18, 2006 as you'll see in the intro) was uploaded back in January, and I never even knew about it until tonight.

So some info based on this episode. No vowel buying, and apparently you can't solve until the timer starts.

Consonants are multipled while vowels are flat-rate.

Toss-Ups exist despite the puzzle board using trilons; letters are revealed from left to right until someone rings in with an answer, but the contestant to the left of the winner starts the round.

Aperte e Ganhe: Toss-Up for $1000

Round 1: Bolsa (Jackpot); The Jackpot starts at $2000.

Round 2: Supresa (Mystery); Four Mystery wedges cover the penalty spaces (one episode had six as seen in one of the above clips). When landed on and a correct letter is called, $500 is added to each player's score regardless of whether or not the player takes the bribe. The reverse is some sort of effect on all three players' scores.

Round 3: Speed-Up; The player who won the first toss-up spins, and that's the value of consonants. All the vowels are already revealed. This is the true debut of $150, $250, $350, and $450 on Roda A Roda, although at least some of these values existed on Roletrando.

Round 4: Vale Brinde (Gift Tag); A gift tag marked Vale Brinde (Brinde means present; I'm not sure about Vale) is placed on one of the $100 spaces.

Round 5: Salve-Se Quem Puder (Save yourself if you can); A Perde Tudo/$5000/Perder Tudo space is placed on one of the Perde Tudo spaces (with the adjacent $1000 decreased to a yellow $200) while the other Perde Tudo space is covered by a teal $600.

At the end of the game, all players receive a $500 bonus. If a player has failed to solve any puzzles, however, (s)he is given a $1000 consolation prize.

In the bonus round, the winner chooses four consonants and a vowel and has ten seconds to think the puzzle over. After the ten seconds are up, the player is prompted for an answer. If correct, the bonus is won. If not, (s)he still leaves with what (s)he has already won.

Since I know all the layouts seen in this episode, I do plan on recreating them, but in the meantime, please enjoy the show!
