I'm a big fan of Roda a Roda and it's my favorite foreign version. I'm glad to see Silvio back in the hosting seat but I'm not happy about the changes they made. Primarily switching over to a electronic puzzleboard instead of maintaining the trilon puzzleboard. The new hostess is awful as well so it's disappointing to watch. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kQhsyNOf8o

Unless I've missed something, Silvio's been doing the Sunday episodes all along, as the new hosts (Patricia Abravanel and Liminha) only did the daily series*. Silvio did, though, do a very Wheel-based game of Hangman on Vamos Brincar de Forca ("Let's Play Hangman") from at least July 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013...which was also sponsored by Jequiti.
*...Or at least, I think that was the arrangement. There's a clip of a Jequiti episode with Abravanel and Liminha hosting (hard to miss the 1 Milhão win), so maybe they replaced Santos and Patricia Salvador to very ill effect, i.e. the weekly version got canned and replaced by Vamos in June-July 2012? At the very least, Roda and Vamos began sharing set pieces from October 7, 2012 onward. ==== EDIT: According to Portuguese Wikipedia (salt appropriately, but I think they'd know better than most on Brazilian culture), Vamos did in fact replace -- and was replaced by -- the weekly Roda, airing from May 13, 2012 through March 31, 2013. It was actually a revival of Santos' very first program, which had debuted in 1961.

It's about time I heard from them again! BTW, if there are any episodes from 2005 or 2006 or so, I'm trying to figure out the value of that one wedge styled like the Bankrupt/$10,000/Bankrupt space. You can see it here.
So, looks like they got some $X50 values now, huh? I see $50, $250, $350, $450, $550 $650, $750, $850, and even $950! Sweet!!

Oh ok I see. I didn't know they ran a weekly and a daily version. The last few clips I had seen were of the two hosts you mentioned. Anywho, glad to see Silvio on any show but I still hate the new puzzleboard.

I'm indifferent about the puzzleboard, although I like the used letter board feature.
Just so you know, I started a topic last year about Brazilian Wheel. One of the clips I showed was from April of 2012, apparently of a daytime version. If you want to sneeze at the Wheel's utter cheapness, go right ahead. Even the first round 1 Bob Goen layouts were better than this, although the shiny stars beat those pesky, evil, black diamonds.

...Are you kidding me? Values as low as $20 at the most? Even Australia didn't go lower than $30!
Edited to add: It's not helping that the Brazilian real is worth about half the American dollar, either.

The game's being offered on Mercado Livre, which I'm guessing from the site layout is something like a Brazilian eBay. The play money denominations, from what I can tell, are 500-1,000-5,000-10,000. I can't tell who the person is on said money, though. As for copyright info, I don't see any, but since Compere 1 Letra is clearly Brazil's Buy A freaking Vowel it might be 1975. I also don't see anything resembling a puzzle board -- only stands for the cardboard letter chips to be put into, which makes me wonder how this was played. Could one of the admins move Germanname's post (and this one) to a separate topic noting this board game is (I guess) a limited-time offer? I'd love to see it go to one of our own so we can study this thing.

Probably not a bad idea, but don't just do it for this game; do it for the entire subject of when Brazil's version was known as Roletrando.

Interesting thing I noticed with Google Translate - there is no Bankrupt, so if accurate this would be the only known actually aired version of the show to have a wheel without one, but there is a wedge (Perde metado) that works like the old version of Spain's ½ wedge.
Edited to add: As for the stands, I believe they're simply what they use in that particular board game instead of a puzzle board frame. The cards are probably one-sided and can be turned around.

That's exactly how I think how the puzzle board worked.
Anyway, over a year ago, I mentioned that I was trying to find an episode of Roda A Roda from 2005 or 2006 or around that time frame because I've been trying to find out the value of that Bankrupt/$10,000/Bankrupt look alike. Well, someone over at DeviantArt who is a big Brazilian Wheel fan just became my best Brazilian friend because not only he told me that the value in between was $5000 (he previously believed it was $3000), but he also showed a full episode from that era. The episode (which originally aired April 18, 2006 as you'll see in the intro) was uploaded back in January, and I never even knew about it until tonight.
So some info based on this episode. No vowel buying, and apparently you can't solve until the timer starts.
Consonants are multipled while vowels are flat-rate.
Toss-Ups exist despite the puzzle board using trilons; letters are revealed from left to right until someone rings in with an answer, but the contestant to the left of the winner starts the round.
Aperte e Ganhe: Toss-Up for $1000
Round 1: Bolsa (Jackpot); The Jackpot starts at $2000.
Round 2: Supresa (Mystery); Four Mystery wedges cover the penalty spaces (one episode had six as seen in one of the above clips). When landed on and a correct letter is called, $500 is added to each player's score regardless of whether or not the player takes the bribe. The reverse is some sort of effect on all three players' scores.
Round 3: Speed-Up; The player who won the first toss-up spins, and that's the value of consonants. All the vowels are already revealed. This is the true debut of $150, $250, $350, and $450 on Roda A Roda, although at least some of these values existed on Roletrando.
Round 4: Vale Brinde (Gift Tag); A gift tag marked Vale Brinde (Brinde means present; I'm not sure about Vale) is placed on one of the $100 spaces.
Round 5: Salve-Se Quem Puder (Save yourself if you can); A Perde Tudo/$5000/Perder Tudo space is placed on one of the Perde Tudo spaces (with the adjacent $1000 decreased to a yellow $200) while the other Perde Tudo space is covered by a teal $600.
At the end of the game, all players receive a $500 bonus. If a player has failed to solve any puzzles, however, (s)he is given a $1000 consolation prize.
In the bonus round, the winner chooses four consonants and a vowel and has ten seconds to think the puzzle over. After the ten seconds are up, the player is prompted for an answer. If correct, the bonus is won. If not, (s)he still leaves with what (s)he has already won.
Since I know all the layouts seen in this episode, I do plan on recreating them, but in the meantime, please enjoy the show!

Brazil has recently adopted a bonus round based entirely on luck. Instead of being asked to solve a puzzle, you're asked if you think a firetruck, ambulance, or police car will win a race.

This new Bonus Round just does not belong. There's a huge difference in time between picking 6 or 16 numbers, while the traditional Bonus Round always takes about the same amount of time give or take about enough time to extend or shorten the post-game chat.
At least it has something to do with wheels, though that seems like a stretch.
Just as an extra, imagine a TPIR lineup with six games that can wind up extremely long or short...packed with the chances of a spinoff, two spins that don't make it all the way around, and throw in a bonus spin.

Good to see that Roda a Roda is still going, as is Silvio. That said, I'm reasonably sure this is the first version of Wheel to deviate from the standard Bonus Round "actually related to everything else" format, although it's not a good sign that the new endgame is something I'd expect from Let's Make A Deal or a lottery game show. If this was a minigame either attached to some cardboard on the Wheel or played as a "breather" by all three contestants halfway through the main game, I could see it working as a nice little diversion...but having it as the Bonus Round? Yeah, no, this really smacks of budget cuts (I see the 1 Milhao wedges are gone, too) and desperation. Unless they change back, I don't see the show lasting more than about another year -- and even if they do change back, it might end up being too late. EDIT: Okay, I just realized something -- not only does Silvio not have his microphone on his suit (as had been pretty much his trademark), but there's no hostess! As for the host himself, as I was watching the endgame I thought Silvio looked bored, like he knows this is a bad idea (and given that he's hosted lots of shows since the 1960s, I think he'd know what works and what doesn't). Scanning through the rest of the show...it looks like he's just bored period.

They've had that bonus round for a while now. It is kinda dumb I will admit and the pattern is super easy to figure out so contestants would have to be really dumb to figure it out.
