And now it's official! We've crossed $3 million in total winnings...but not in the way you'd think! A very hearty congratulations to lousan92, AKA Javier, who not only competed in the 9th anniversary tournament on Spain's La Ruleta de la Suerte, but also WON in dramatic fashion! He tells you all about it on our boards here. Javier won 16.275€ over the course of two shows, pushing his total winnings to 20.650€. When you take the exchange rate into account, that's definitely good enough to push us over the top! Congratulations, Javi! And now, the march to $4 million begins in earnest! |

Ha, 100th BAV member contestant AND the only one to have goose egged, thus putting me at the very bottom of the winnings list. I guess the other goose eggers are too ashamed to join? #lol
Now my parting gifts included both prizes (including a 9-piece camping package) and cash (from the folks at Geritol instead of actually getting a supply of Geritol) with a total value of ~$1K. But even so I'd still be at the very bottom of the winnings list.

So you actually won more than people who got hit with pity money...when the pity money was still just $500! I remember that there are still people from as late as the 2004-05 season who solved a puzzle but finished with less than $1,000 anyway. |

Congratulations to our members whose Season 33 shows have already aired: Catherine Braun ( csb61): $3,000 Andrew Satriano ( theskiingbobs): $80,860 (!!!!!!) ricky Ruszin: $12,190 I've also gone ahead and added those members who have yet to air and/or tape, since they'll be on this list eventually...I reckon we'll cross $4 million in total winnings by the end of the season! |

So who else saw Ryan Vickers ( luggature) on The Price is Right Monday morning? Just watched the show on the CBS mobile app. He was awesome! Loved his genuine "kid in a candy store" enthusiasm. Felt bad for him on his One Away loss. Pretty sure I would've made the same choices. There was that one guy in the audience who was very confidently signaling 1 for the second number. Wonder if he saw him. |

Thanks Josh for the mention! Also thanks Eugene for your comment about being a "kid in a candy store". That pretty much might be the best comment I've heard all week. I had a great time and what an experience... called first to boot! One Away is a difficult game - I couldn't believe that I got the hard numbers right and missed an earlier one! I can't remember if I saw the guy I was sitting next two (Martin) who was signalling the "1"... it was kind of a blur for me at the time. I have had three different viewing parties this week - one at work for the students that I teach, one with close friends and one with my dive club. It's been quite the trip!!! Ryan  |
