"incredible wheel of fortune guess emil" has nearly 1.75 MILLION results. Christ, emilburp . (We've also had like 1800 guests the last 24 hours thanks to you-2nd most ever behind the CORNO CURRO incident on the 2nd show this year.)
TU1: Had it with X. Honestly, these AG TU1s with big US cities are fantastic chances to get a good solve in...but not here.
TU2: First of many game show references (we'll say Scrabble here, for Chuck's sake, heck no to Monopoly) tonight. And with that, #EmilonWheel is on the board.
R1: Nice work Emil, played it like a champ, smart play overall. I was worried when you solved here you'd leave too much opening for a trip to trip solve to overtake you. And there's game show reference 2 tonight. Had this with just the Ts, though it helps I was on a BAM fan forum literally seconds before the show.
R2: Dang, I was worried Kendra's 8 letters and all would be Pat's reference. Equally good play by her, expertly so, and really all three of you, both of which went understated tonight.
R3: Puzzle made me angry, since they use Infinity Pools so much, but more than willing to forgive because Emil got it. I felt SO relieved and happy then, because I knew then the game was yours barring the unlikely 6K Final Spin.
TU3: Nail in the coffin. And the 3rd and final game show reference of the night, this time with the classic prize of The Price is Right.
R4: Nice work here, Emil, I thought it might by ICKY for some reason on the last word. If nothing else, that was one hell of a foreshadow of what was to come.
R5: Aww, shame you had to get the only penalty of the night, Emil. It was interesting to see Pat land on that $700, since I thought it was going to be edited/something totally else, since it looked like it had the oomph for FP. Standard puzzle, gameplay. Not much to say, although a one-letter (in terms of letters called) speed-up segment is a REALLY nice change of pace. Felt like the old days.
BR: Was wondering if Pat was trolling here, since while, yeah, good gameplay, nothing to merit how complimentary Sajak's tweet was. Would've been mad if the 30K, but I knew as you and Pat were walking to the tic marks (places to stand), it wasn't. His words got short, and a bit nervous, so that's how I knew. I was stuck on YORK as word two, stupidly. Though it's funny...I was thinking that if this is anything but something similar to the BABY BOY (go figure on that one, eh?) case, then I'll be disappointed in Pat hyping.
Picks: Honestly, I'm 100% SO GLAD you didn't, but why didn't you pick BGHO? I mean, you made the hashtag #BGHO4Life. Just curious.
Gameplay: I did my best Jackie Chan meme face there. Holy freaking cow. I could only think of BUGGY as glitch, or to reference a carriage accompanying a horse, not so much in a sense relating to a Baby. That was incredible. I was really fricking impressed--and I almost never am, no matter what. You win my gold star for a long, LONG time, even beyond the Alumnus one. Emil, you should also know, you made Wheel the 8th most trending topic on Twitter, like a minute or 2 after your solve, just, yeah, FYI.
Wheel is fortunate you had it in the first solve; reacting 2.5 seconds after the solve could have potentially caused big issues, or at least a stopdown, if later in the countdown.
10/10, would and will watch again when this is re-aired in the summer. I have never seen a better moment, given the circumstances as that solve, by my eyes. Screw the MDWs, we knew of those. And for this to happen to one of our own, no less. You have MADE IT, and wow, I am SO happy for you.
