Christ, that's hilarious...Mario was talking to me last night about your solve, and in no uncertain terms did he say you'd make it on Ellen. Ha! Good for you, and I'm thinking Andy Warhol was wrong about you.

(And BAV as whole is potentially involved with her in the future, having submitted itself a few hours back for her World Wide What? segment just a few hours ago, like Mario said. Stay tuned.)

Or me. I think both of us would have a legit chance to do so, either with, as Mario said a trip puzzle, or quite possibly a Toss-Up with no letters--I can usually do that with the cities (like tonight's) or any sports team that they'd give, roughly 85% of the time. Quotation is about 50% there, and Shakespearean is sure to no letter. The other thing in our favor (along with other super solvers) is potentially blowing the BR picks, if it's at least semi-obscure and you know it with RSTLNE, since that is more of a wow factor to people (and they'd never know the difference on air). Heck, most of us do that enough here, and I do it like 95% of the time.

This raises the question in my mind: How much obscurity would it take for a similar scenario, in BR difficulty, would this take to happen again (or any John Doe)? Does it need an obscure term (BUGGY)? Or can it be letter difficulty as well, like HOT WAX? Good idea for analysis later--how many BR puzzles this season would be impressive to all hell like Emil's with RSTLNE alone.  Guint's site here should be interesting, might edit that with this or make it its own thread.

I admit this is more than likely far-fetched, but hey I'll say it anyway: at the rate this is going, I'd be half-surprised if we ended up with actual celebs on this forum, mainly because it'd be amusing to see them play in the HYO and DPG sections since Wheel refuses to let them play on the real show.


Plus this could bounce off pretty well to the History Wiki and Puzzle Compendium, both of which could benefit from national exposure. Everybody wins -- Emil, Wheel, all the shows and media outlets that want to interview Emil, and BAV!

Jeopardy has reason to though; it's all contestants that are involved in the Battle of the Decades tournament.

Not only that, it seems that the Spanish host has watched it and he has retweeted the video. Very amazing, Emil!!

You know...with how much fame and respect Emil is getting from all this, I hope WOF is kicking themselves right now for not having champions anymore. Do they realize how many people would tune in if Emil played again? The ratings would soar even higher than they already are.

I bet you weren't expecting the experience to extend this much, were you Emil? I noticed you said after getting Ellen's gifts, "How am I going to get this on the plane?" That was priceless.

^ They removed the T from the chyron but not the S, L, or M? -_- Ruins the whole thing. (Though I like how they dubbed over Emil's voice with the real timer cue. I wonder if they simply got it from another episode)
