...I've got nothing. Really, seriously, I've got nothing. No, wait, scratch that -- I actually do have a few things to say: * Who thought it'd be a good idea to attach a $1,000 bonus to finding the Same Letter? Is Friedman that much against "bonus" categories and questions? * $32,000 as the new Bonus Round minimum? Wha? It's like they couldn't think of any other ways to put more money in the show, and it's not like the Bonus Round was hurting in the "big money" department. * Vowels are still $250, but we've got a good reason this time! ...Okay, we don't actually have a good reason. Or any reason. Based on all this, they've used up their one good idea for the season on beefing up the Wheel, albeit without actually crossing into values between $900 and $2,500. Well done, guys. ...sigh. Well, there goes most of my hope for any kind of improved watchability this season. I hate to sound like the big downer in the crowd, but the lack of change in vowel price and round structure combined with the upped values just does not make the show better. It makes it worse. I said before that the other two changes came where things weren't broken and did not need fixing. Here, two things that are clearly broken SHOULD be fixed but are going to keep grinding away for another year. This, as well as Scott's other post. Just when I think modern-day Wheel can't feel more desperate and gimmicky despite being #1...it gets ever closer to being a primetime game show that's being meddled with by a network that should be leaving things to those who know what they're doing -- like, say, John Lauderdale. Does Friedman know something we don't in regard to Wheel's future? Or does he still not seem to "get it"? Personally...I stopped caring a long time ago.

Wow, both of these changes are dumb as hell.
Is the $1000 non-multipliable, a static bonus? It's so minor when the SL is now guaranteed to produce at least $1000 on its own (minimum 2 * minimum 500), I really don't understand the point if it is flat. If it's multipliable and a $500 spin becomes $1500 per letter, I actually think that's an interesting change
32 is just a very sloppy season gimmick and it irks me. Makes 35 legitimately not much of a better prize over the minimum.

The $1000 is a flat bonus. For example, if the puzzle is HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS and you call H on $600, you would get $2800 on that turn (600 * 3 + 1000).

They were probably too lazy to plan every contingency (say, what happens if SL is on MDW?). But why isn't the flat bonus $3000 then, so it has some type of impact?

The one thing that I've gotta ask...why commemorate 32, of all seasons, with a gimmicky bonus envelope?
I'd ask for the extra two grand, except I already picked it up from Jeopardy!...hey, it's still Friedman's wallet, right Dan?

They were probably too lazy to plan every contingency (say, what happens if SL is on MDW?). But why isn't the flat bonus $3000 then, so it has some type of impact? Easy, the player gets the MDW and $1,000. Money earned from the SL usually adds up quite well being a guaranteed multiple, so they probably don't want to overshadow it with a very large bonus. The fact that it's a multiple that everyone knows is hiding somewhere is kind of a bonus itself.

Probably not gonna happen, socksocksock. We won't know until we watch. And if every show did have 13 BANKRUPTS and 6 LaTs, then WoF wouldn't be enjoyable anymore.

I could go on and on about the little things the show could do to improve, but the one crucial thing they missed this time is keeping vowels at $250. If they had just done that ONE thing, it would feel so much better. This season probably won't be bad, just repetitive... again. (Oh wait, that is kind of bad) $500-$900 + TDV, Wild Card Bankrupted, $0 Prize Puzzle, Buy all 5 vowels if you can afford it (which will be even easier now), Free Vowel, and $32,000 four or five times a week is what Season 32 will be like. And would it seriously kill them to put a freakin' $1500 space on the Wheel in Round 4?! P.S. I'm surprised MarioGS's avatar is not the $32,000 envelope by now.

I don't like much any of the new changes. Why $32K? It seems that Harry has an obsession of changing some stuff every season, but his new ideas are a bit... strange.
At least the $1,000 bonus for the Same Letter is positive and understandable. But it also seems weird. If they want to make something interesting, please, bring back the bonus categories. I think that it's something that a lot of people want.

Well I'm sure an intern could be a bit more creative in what they do with show. Don't get me wrong, the show is still good but I feel like it's missing that classic Wheel charm. I'm not saying let's go back to the shopping days... oof but bring back celebrities and sports stars weeks for charity or something like that.

Maybe they're trying to do a nod to the old WWTBAM with $32,000?

Well if the really wanted to do a nod to WWTBAM they'd add $5K to the $100K every night until it's won.

I'm not really surprised about the vowels staying at $250 since they made a point about them staying at $250 during the entire Wheel 6000 week. I am quite surprised at the $1,000 SL bonus and the $32K minimum. At least we won't have to see the dreaded $30K for a season.

I don't think the Same Letter bonus sounds that bad. In a way, it could encourage contestants to try to go for the Same Letter rather than leave it uncalled (not saying it happens often, but I've seen it happen before). It's nice to see a higher minimum BR amount. But I have to agree with what a lot of people have said already...$32K seems rather irregular for a BR amount. Maybe at this point, I shouldn't be surprised if they had $64K as a BR amount. I guess that would really be giving a shout-out to the old Millionaire. I agree that the vowel price should've gone up, but by keeping vowels at $250, it could be them emphasizing the importance of buying vowels.
