That does look rather spiffy. Definitely an improvement. I'm guessing the front side probably looks the same. Now to see if they $10,000 side of that changed.

The Express wedge [... is] only there for one round and is a quick way for contestants to earn a few extra grand with one spin of the wheel. I think the problem is that it's shoved in with the Trip Puzzle, so if someone starts the round with it, calls every consonant on the board (regardless of whether they buy any vowels), and solves...that achievement immediately gets overshadowed by "ooh look a trip". $100K only showed up twice last season. Should the retire the bonus wheel then since it had a relatively unsuccessful season? I've theorized that the reason for the cash infusion next season was because the confetti was fired once last season, and then only after most of the season went without a Big One landing. What we think of as "unsuccessful" and what Harry thinks are two different things at times. This isn't DonD where they need to rely on gimmicks for people to win big money nor do they need to. They certainly rely on gimmicks for a lot of other things! the Jackpot was won at least 114 times over the course of the 17 years that it was on the air. With Jackpot being won that many times, to me, this doesn't sound like the right kind of element to be retired. [...] Again, going back to the Jackpot, it being won at least 114 times left me dumbfounded that an element that would so well would be retired. You are right, this isn't about whether I say it needs to be retired or not, but it doesn't sound like an element that is won so many times SHOULD be retired. Since you're referencing the History Wiki, I should note that the section you got this info from has, on the back end (visible by clicking the edit button for said section, although I've now made it visible on the front end as well), a list of all 114 known instances of the Jackpot being won. To break it down by season, per known info: -Season 14: 6 wins (low: $5,000; high: $15,550) -Season 15: 2 wins (low: $7,650; high: $7,950) -Season 16: 5 wins (low: $6,300; high: $12,200) -Season 17: 3 wins (low: $8,700; high: $13,300) -Season 18: 4 wins (low: $9,200; high: $12,650) -Season 19: 1 win ($11,900) -Season 20: 6 wins (low: $6,250; high: $12,100) -Season 21: 6 wins (low: $7,100; high: $14,900) -Season 22: 5 wins (low: $8,550; high: $9,950) -Season 23: 13 wins (low: $6,750; high: $11,350) -Season 24: 9 wins (low: $6,850; high: $16,000, believed to be the biggest nighttime Jackpot win) -Season 25: 5 wins (low: $6,100; high: $8,800) -Season 26: 6 wins (low: $7,300; high: $13,450) -Season 27: 10 wins (low: $6,800; high: $13,150) -Season 28: 8 wins (low: $6,100; high: $10,200) -Season 29: 13 wins (low: $6,000; high: $13,150) -Season 30: 12 wins (low: $7,300; high: $11,450) ...So even with incomplete info on Seasons 14-23, it's clear that the Jackpot's last two seasons had a lot of wins for a lot of cash. Just because something is won so many times or is worth so much doesn't necessarily make it a good idea to keep around or even have in the first place; sometimes, you have to cut back for the sake of staying within your allotted prize budget and being able to pay all of your winners without going overbudget.

Only one man for over 30 years? Ugh. At least they acknowledge a couple before him, but that means Chuck and Edd(?), right? This looks just off, like they're using half the wedge, or something. Probably recycled from the prior MWs, given the coloration/bankrupt center strip. I really hope that's the lighting from that camera, because it's not a great angle. Figures she had a 1/2 Car, too. Looks like B&A, R2 trend is continuing this season, BURIED TREASURE HUNTERS as the puzzle solution. I assume it's that, as only words 2 and 3 were visible, but since it's the Mystery Round, Round 2, that's logical, and I couldn't think of another word that it would be for Round 1. Last but not least, a Vegas theme? Really? That's odd, considering, well, the road show city last year.

I noticed the circles at the top changed color, the Bankrupt lettering is noticably smaller (I think it's still centered, Prizes, if you watch the video), and of course, you have the purple added. By the way, September 8th in Denver instead of September 15th, or is that just scheduling? Because I heard in Chicago next week, Jeopardy! is coming from 2:30 back to its old 3:30 time slot on ABC7.

Most likely scheduling. Even though I think it's time that Wheel and Jeopardy premiere ON Labor Day Monday again, Wheel's website still says that their season will premiere on September 15th.

BryceL, what's with the ambulance? I was responding to Germanname's question about the season premiere. I told him that I believed that the thing about September 8th was scheduling.

It may or may not be because at least 90% of your posts on this site so far have been about what they've done wrong and things you'd change about the show. Is there anything you WOULDN'T change? Rhetorical question.

Anyway... My best guess for the new Mystery Wedges after seeing them on KDVR. Those who have been in the studio, do these seem right?

For some reason the BANKRUPT lettering seems even narrower than that. Maybe it's just the picture being distorted but still too early to call.

You're not crazy. From that KDVR preview, the BANKRUPT text is the same width from top to bottom.

WAY too large for the text, IMO.

Yeah, I'd make the letters smaller too. Furthermore, I don't see the circle being anywhere close to red based on what I saw already. Then again, it may be the lighting.

The show has finally released its yearly press release. See if you can spot the mistake. Someone doesn't know their own show very well...

Did Cory Anotado (AKA PacDude) write this? Oh, Cory, please don't tell me this was you.
