Lemme get this straight... Birds. Birds sat on an electrical wire. Birds sat on an electrical wire and caused a power outage for at least part of Sony Studios for something like four hours. ... Seriously? Is Sony's financial situation so bad they can't even afford protection against birds? I mean, it's one thing if they were acting like the ones in that Hitchcock film (i.e., hella scary), but birds doing what they normally do shouldn't cause a multi-hour power outage. I...I got nothing.

Gotta love set pieces that rely so much on neon and such that they don't actually have any color of their own.
I know the current Family Feud set is like that, too.

Where is any light coming from at all? Doesn't seem practical to have windows or a skylight in the studio.

The ones from Season 32 were outdoors because they were on-location in Hawaii. This season's Hawaii Week will probably be done at Culver City, just with a Hawaii-themed indoor set. Nothing new, it's been done before.

It's probably just me, but that photo feels like a 1970's prediction of what the current Wheel set would be (albeit with the lights off). Those lights on the base look so metallic.

Is it just me or does the scoreboard background look a bit different? Could it be a new design for it? Have a look at this from a S33 taping Which looks different compared to the one from this past season: Anyone wanna say what they think here?

Yeah, we already established that they changed the scoreboard background a while back. I imagine the reason for that is that the old background with the wedges contained wedges under $500, which no longer exist anywhere on the wheel.

It's still not 100% confirmed that the new background appears during gameplay. Previously, the background of the WHEEL/of/FORTUNE images was just solid colors instead of the Wheel texture. Any images we've seen with the scoreboards in action so far are too hard to tell which background they're using.
I, for one, hope it's the cloudy texture. The Wheel texture looks horribly out of place today. They haven't changed it since Season 20.

Well, as we had hoped, a good Wheel picture surfaced from yesterday's tapings. The mysterious yellow wedge is... $600.

So were getting cheaper ..... And that's also proved by the Ebags tag.

Okay, first we had too many $500 spaces on the wheel. Now we are headed for a $600 minimum, at least I think so...
