Hmm, interesting she'd be at Wheel even this week given the last day of taping for Season 33 was April 1st, for America the Beautiful Week. Very curious photo indeed, and this warrants some speculation and discussion, at minimum.

Yay, short puzzles. Fewer consonants, reduced "big" winnings. :eyebrow:

Wow! It looks so weird coming from the trend of Wheel in lowing the prizes... Now I am really hoping to watch Wheel in two weeks, it would be so great to see that layout in play! (We all know that they won't be using it ) However, the Wheel values make no sense. I don't think that having so many $7,200 spaces in the Wheel could be affordable for them. And not to say that the only values are $1,800, $3,600 and $7,200... But doesn't the purple wedge over the $500 between $700 and $650 look weird? It looks like an special amount, just like $2,500, $3,500 and $5,000. I can't figure what it is!

What the... ? OK, first off, here's a blowup and crop of the second post. The only unique values are $1800, $3600 and $7200. This includes, for some reason, a sparkly gold or silver $1800 where Lose a Turn goes and a dark sparkly purple $3600. Why would they make those wedges sparkly? This is not for Big Money Week. trisspinner went to the tapings for that week and confirmed nothing changed on the Wheel. And this is not for Philadelphia Week or America the Beautiful Week; they just kept the set up since that's what was used for the last tapings of the season. And all Instagram posts relevant to this were posted yesterday. I really doubt this is going to be used during gameplay on the show proper. This is probably for a commercial or parody skit. Or maybe this has something to do with the upcoming Lottery Players games, as they have made Bonus Wheel envelopes of non-gameplay amounts for Lottery-related sweepstakes, but those aren't going to be played until after next season begins taping. A bonus: an up-close look of the yellow $1800 wedge being made. Strangely posted without any description or hashtags. The "1" looks kind of odd, but a great-looking wedge nonetheless. http://instagr.am/p/BD9pBrgFGNe

It's possible it's for a commercial or the Lottery games. In any case, thanks for showing us that wedge, MarioGS. By the way, if anyone wants to see the values at the top a little better, here are some stretch shots I did.

I can't speak for those pictures, but this picture is from Philly Week so you can see the wheel is normal. I had to crop it because I promised people in the picture with me that I wouldn't post it on social media (which I think extends to the internet in general).

That's...different. Really interested to see what the point of this is. Or maybe this has something to do with the upcoming Lottery Players games, as they have made Bonus Wheel envelopes of non-gameplay amounts for Lottery-related sweepstakes, but those aren't going to be played until after next season begins taping. Wait, what? They're doing Lottery Players games again?

Strange, but to me the 2's in the $7200 spaces look off-model (curly base, as opposed to the flat base on the normal $2500 wedge).

Strange, but to me the 2's in the $7200 spaces look off-model (curly base, as opposed to the flat base on the normal $2500 wedge). Probably because they won't be showing them on camera. They would have made the wedges very fast and not having into account that they won't look close to the real wedges.

Why are most of the amounts multiples of $1800? And why no $5400 space?
Any chance this could be the wheel for a new BR format where: - you spin to call consonants - vowels cost $1800 - one bad letter call or Bankrupt and you lose - all consonants in the BR puzzle must be called before you can solve - if you hit a sparkly wedge it acts like the Express wedge

Or maybe, it still might be used for promos of Big Money Week. I doubt that this is gonna be the format for BR. Maybe this year, it might be the same format for BR like it happened in Big Money Week 2012 where there are extra envelopes that had $60,000, $70,000 and $80,000. That I know for sure. Now, R4 $10,000 space when? You had that in Season 17.

Thanks for clearing that up, Robert. They'll probably be held to the same limitations the 2012 games were, though, which means the general public won't ever see 'em. Or maybe, it still might be used for promos of Big Money Week. Wouldn't that border on false advertising, though? "It's Big Money Week on Wheel of Fortune, so here's footage we shot after we finished taping for the season with Wheel values we'll probably never actually use!"

You know what, guys? A thought just popped into my head. Maybe, just maybe, this Wheel could be used to promote Scopely's game. When some of us tested it a few months ago, we got to play with some layouts that had four-digit values including some that didn't have 0 or 5 as a hundreds digit.

They already filmed promos for the Scopely game several months ago, but who knows? Thanks for clearing that up, Robert. They'll probably be held to the same limitations the 2012 games were, though, which means the general public won't ever see 'em. Unless somebody's relative decides to rip the DVD and upload it to YouTube like last time.

Exactly, Mario. They could be making more promos as a U.S. release date draws near. The game's already out in some countries, but maybe they're readying another promo stating it's going to be out in the States on "this date" and telling viewers this is what the game has to offer, something that's usually not done until shortly before something comes out.

Wow, lots of four-digit spaces on the Wheel! Too bad they can't be used on the real show, for obvious reasons.
