May we not forget I WALK THE LINE BY JOHNNY CASH, incorrectly missolved as I HAVE THE WINE BY JOHNNY CASH.

WITHOUT A DOUBT is without a doubt, the most expensive loss in the history of Wheel of Fortune. If that puzzle was solved, the player would've won a million bucks

Infamous puzzles huh? If so then...
LIVING PROOF is one of them. Happened twice, the road trip to San Diego in Season 20 and one from Season 29.
ENJOY THE SHOW. Seriously, who wouldn't "enmog" that moment from that College Week in San Diego.
HOT WAX. This killed the 5000th show's good ending because of that $100k loss.
I was thinking of listing more, but this is best I can give.

Sorry, ignore that post above, but I've got more BUTTINSKY. As Pat would describe, "It's like the Warsaw phonebook we're doing." From Season 13. Every puzzle solved by Julian Batts. buyavowel.boards.net/thread/6346/april-11-2014-recapI don't feel like listing the puzzles, so here's a recap.

If Big Gulp made that list, then Almond Joy should as well. That was categorized as Around the House back when it was used as a bonus puzzle in '04. No one would have guessed that.

I'll try a different case here, when Season 21 had consecutive WTF moments from "I'M BUSH" and the next episode's bonus puzzle of QUICK AS A WINK. This pairing is hard for me to forget, especially since the first one went unsolved with I'M B_S_ revealed (the answer was I'M BUSY).

NEW BABY BUGGY based on your definition of infamous. Or, how about CHOSEN FEW?

Gotta add A Streetcar Named Desire when the poor guy only had one letter left and guessed K instead of M. That was especially awesome because I rarely get to see infamous puzzles on their original airdate.

Is there any proof of PIKACHU? Where did that recollection originate? ( wheelfan82, you recall anything about this?)

I have a couple of puzzles that I think qualify as "infamous":
A KNOWN FACT - Resulted in a $100,000 loss as the contestant said "UNKNOWN FACT" twice.
BOMBASTIC - I bet the sentence offered by the solving contestant and the subsequent reactions are among the many reasons why Pat hated its category (Megaword).

FRANCIS FORD AND SOFIA COPPOLA
Infamous because a lady had the full puzzle filled in, 10K Prize, maybe a trip, and a bunch of cash and she said, "KA-POE-LUH" instead of "COE-POH-LAH." And they didn't give it to her. This was from like the 2003/2004 season, IIRC.
Has PICTURESQUE PINEAPPLE PLANTATIONS been mentioned yet? Or should I say, "Pictureskay!"

Saint Thomas Aquinas on the Rolf daytime era had a few mispronunciations, going from 29 year old memory.
Piano Concerto was pronounced Concert-O in 1992 on nighttime.
Milan Italy mispronounced in the bonus round in 1988-89 nighttime season.
Buttinsky in the maingame during a speed up round in 1993.
Wax solved from _A_ in the bonus round circa 1992-93, and a contestant picking Z and O on the Zoo bonus puzzle that season.
ET Takes One To Know One from a daytime episode in the early 80s(when ET was a new movie)
Carl Grant guessed for Cary Grant on a Woolery episode, as per an ATGS post.

Honest oversight and the strict judging got her and the editing(hope it was the editing) made it look like Sajak was being condescending by just saying "Uh no" when likely they had the layers out or there was a gap in deliberating over giving her the prize. Nevermind the fact that a few years before, they allowed someone to say "SELL-AH" instead of "SEE-LAH" in the puzzle ACTRESS SELA WARD. Has anyone mentioned THE WAY TO A MAN'S HEART IS THROUGH HIS STOMACH? Lady said, "A WAY..." and lost thousands of dollars in a very awkward moment(likely because they stopped tape or had to edit the deliberation).

I have that episode on tape somewhere. Nice. I hope it surfaces someday. But poor lady. If I can find the tape and figure out how to transfer it. It's been in storage a while. That seems like an obscure name even for the time. She doesn't seem to have been in anything big. I remember someone mentioning an episode where the puzzle was DAVID DUCHOVNY AND TEA LEONI and two contestants said it "Tea" like the beverage instead of "Tay-a" like how it's actually pronounced. Someone else said they remember someone fluffing GLORIA ESTEFAN AND MIAMI SOUND MACHINE, and it may have even been entirely filled in.
