They made a change to how the flippers work in the update that was released making it version 1.0.1.. if the flipper is “stuck” to one of the pins, it thinks you are on a different wedge on the wheel. For example, land on the blue $700 and if it’s touching the pin that is shared with the lose a turn wedge, it will register as lose a turn even though you’re clearly on the $700 wedge. I landed on the million and it registered as bankrupt. Thankfully the switch's built-in capture function allows us to get it on video...

So this 1.0.1 version has problems of it own. I'm left to ask if all this was a copy-and-paste job of the PS4/XBox ONE version gone wrong.

My question is why couldn’t Ubisoft make this a “decades” game like TPiR and Family Feud since it was first released during the show’s 35th anniversary?

Need footage without commentary? Got it right here. Left i unedited so the flaws can be more noticeable.

I have a ticket open with Ubisoft where they keep apologizing but do nothing. So I keep responding to it so they can’t close it (at least yet). Another example: Don’t buy this game on switch.

Heh, so I "bought" this game on Switch with some spare eShop credit I realized I had. This is a great puzzle guys. Wonderful writing, Ubisoft.

The Nintendo Switch version of this game is ATROCIOUS. What was the point of releasing this game on the system if they weren't going to make sure it was ready first?

From what I've read and seen, the Switch version is basically identical to the initial PS4/Xbox One release while somehow introducing new inexcusable flaws, which is especially insulting since this comes well after the multiple patches for the PS4/Xbox One version. What was the point of releasing this game on the [Switch] if they weren't going to make sure it was ready first? Probably because it's easier to patch the game after release than spend time and money on QA testing.

I got the Switch digital version while it was on sale in the eShop. In addition to all the problems mentioned by others, this release does not fix any of the three gameplay problems the other versions have ($46K 1/2 Car, Mystery face value still being awarded when finding the $10K, MDW not being taken away if not "locked in"), and the Wild Card can be picked up more than once, but only one can actually be in possession amongst everyone, so the one who picks it up the second time will "steal" it from the one who picked it up first.
Despite the shortcomings, at least this is the first Wheel game on a Nintendo platform to have online play. Surprisingly, it's easier to find online players on the Switch than it is on the Xbox One now. And a Nintendo Switch Online membership is cheaper than Playstation Plus and Xbox Live Gold.

An update was just released for the Switch version today, and all of the sound and Wheel problems have been fixed! All of the missing sound effects and music cues are now present, no more "phantom clickovers", and the cardboard on the Wheel now behaves correctly. This version is finally on par with the other versions.
There were also a couple of graphical updates. The white flash effect used on wedges when landed on is now much brighter than before, including compared to the other versions. The effect is even brighter when the top value and cardboard are hit. The update also brightened the graphics of the Wheel's base to match the other versions. Before, it was a very dark shade of blue beneath the arrows (practically pitch black), and there were no light strips there.
I did notice a glitch for local multiplayer games. If you are Player 2 or 3, you cannot choose letters or solve with the touchscreen; it will only work for Player 1, but all players can still tap the screen for gameplay options like Spin, Solve, Skip, etc. Thankfully, this doesn't happen if you're in the yellow or blue position in an online game.
There are also two sound glitches that happen in all versions: sometimes when a player picks up the Gift Tag, all of the hosts variations of "a $1,000 gift" will sound consecutively until either a player presses Skip or after all of them have played. There are about 10 such voice clips. Also, if the puzzle is in a category that the host does not have a voice clip for (such as Slogan), the introduction will default to "The category is... Around the House".

I knew this game had the potential to be something nice thanks to the fact that it can be updated easily. Although there's still room for improvement with multiplayer from what you told us, at least we should no longer be screaming like the Rabbids (yeah, a little ref to one of Ubisoft's franchises) when it comes to single player mode. By the way, how's the rumble feature? I don't know if I want to turn that back on.

I have the PS4 version and had a glitch the other day. For the final spin, it landed on Lose a Turn. The graphic showed on screen and my contestant’s upset reaction. Then it started the thinking cue, and it skipped to player 2 (I should have gone first having solved the $3k toss-up). And P2 just sat there and did nothing. I could pause the game, end it, restart, etc. but that was it. Kind of a bummer, too, since I had the million dollar wedge...

Ouch! Yeah, I was left worried every time the host gave a final spin for that reason. In a game that's been full of problems, what if the Wheel landed on a penalty space?

There are about 10 such voice clips. Also, if the puzzle is in a category that the host does not have a voice clip for (such as Slogan), the introduction will default to "The category is... Around the House". Unfortunately all is not fixed yet. Here are my findings after the patch: The wheel has completely stopped, and the flippers hang there, but then suddenly drop. Here are 2 examples I posted to my Twitter: twitter.com/josephpanzner/st...83855985790976twitter.com/josephpanzner/st...84874127962112As mentioned previously, when you land on Lose a Turn, you should not hear the Bankrupt sound (on the show, there is no sound heard when landing on Lose a Turn). The Buy a Vowel and Solve buttons on the controller are swapped from where the PS4 and Xbox One versions are. It's minor, but since I'm pretty used to those versions, I accidentally try to solve when I'm actually trying to buy a vowel. The 1/2 car tags appear on the wheel during the Mystery Round (Round 2) which is correct. Unfortunately, they are not re-generating during the Express Round (Round 3) as they should be. The 1/2 car tags should be replenished completely at the start of Round 3, even if one (or both) were claimed during Round 2, and that isn't happening after the new update. The bonus round wheel flipper still acts strange and doesn't look like it's moving correctly--it just looks odd. Hard to describe.. I'll try to capture a video of it and post it on Twitter to be able to share.

I've never had this problem. Every time somebody gets a tag in Round 2, whether they solve with it or not, it's always replenished in Round 3. We figured out that’s it’s kind of specific, but still should be fixed: The game is supposed to detect if the car is awarded during round 2, so that it doesn’t generate tags in round 3. Unfortunately it’s a glitch where if the same player picks up both half car tags in any fashion and then solves the puzzle, the tags don’t generate. So for example, if a player picks up 1/2 car tag, loses it to bankrupt, then the same player picks up the other 1/2 car tag and then ultimately solves the puzzle, you are awarded a 1/2 car tag and it doesn’t award the car (correct), but then doesn’t generate tags in round 3 (incorrect). I’m curious if this same bug exists in the PS4 and Xbox One versions, because it does seem hard to replicate.. but happened to me the very first play after the latest switch update.

As far as the flipper on the bonus wheel feeling wrong is concerned, personally I don't much care. Even THQ's game couldn't get that part right, that flipper went all over the place. As far as the main game flippers falling over pegs at a standstill, personally I think they were trying to make it suspenseful, like it got caught on the peg and the wheel just barely turned enough to get it over. I think that's what they were going for and they just implemented it poorly.

I do hope that they can replicate the 1/2 car tag issue I ran into, but it's certainly playable in the state it's in which is actually pretty decent (I really like the new flipper animations they have going in the Switch version). For the peg/flipper hanging issue, I think you're spot on. It doesn't happen ALL the time. Though, sometimes if it happens right as the wheel is stopping, the wedge flashes before the flipper ever gets there--so it's clearly been decided by the game already, which makes me think it's less of a glitch and more of an implementation like you said.
