CBS affiliate KDBC in El Paso is airing special coverage on the President's visit to El Paso tonight from 6:00-9:00PM MT, pre-empting Wheel and three CBS primetime shows.
The affected primetime shows will air starting at 12:37AM MT, replacing the time slots for Extra, Inside Edition, and about half of CBS Overnight News. Extra will air after the primetime shows, but IE is not on at all.
Wheel is not airing at all.

Two pre-emptions tonight.
First, WKRN Nashville (ABC) is pre-empting Wheel again with yet another local "News 2 Town Hall" special, this time about bullying. As usual, Wheel is relegated to 12:07AM CT. The good news regarding this station is that they will not be pre-empting any of the GAC: Nashville episodes next week.
WPBF in West Palm Beach (ABC) has a more understandable pre-emption. Tonight at 7:00PM ET is an hour-long local special on the one-year anniversary of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, titled Parkland - One Year Later. Tonight's episodes of Wheel and Jeopardy! will air Sunday 2/17 at 5:00 and 5:30PM ET, immediately following two nationally-scheduled hours of Match Game reruns. The Friday episodes and Saturday reruns will air at their usual times.

WHIO in Dayton (CBS) is airing a special on the station's 70th anniversary titled WHIO-TV: 70 Years of Coverage You Can Count On. Wheel is not airing at all. This station is used by the bot that uploads episodes on YouTube, so tonight's episode likely will not be uploaded.
KHQ in Spokane (NBC) has another College Basketball pre-emption, bumping tonight's Wheel to tomorrow afternoon at 2:30PM PT.

More sabotage and disrespect from a "Great American Cities" affiliate.  WPVI in Philadelphia (ABC) is pre-empting tonight's Wheel with the next installment of historical documentary series Philadelphia: The Great Experiment. Wheel will air at 1:07AM ET in place of the secondary airing of Millionaire, which is sliding back to 1:37 in place of a rebroadcast of WPVI's 11:00 newscast. Wheel gets paired with a different trivia-based game show tonight. |

KJZZ in Salt Lake City is one of only two independent stations that airs Wheel (the other being KTVK in Phoenix). It also has the extremely-rare honor of carrying all of the current syndicated game shows, most of which air consecutively throughout the evening with a half-hour newscast sandwiched in.
This is their usual evening game show lineup:
5:00 - Family Feud (note: all Feud runs are in reruns right now)
5:30 - Family Feud
6:00 - Wheel
6:30 - Jeopardy! (new)
7:00 - Local News
7:30 - Millionaire (new)
8:00 - Millionaire (repeat)
8:30 - Jeopardy! (repeat)
They also air Funny You Should Ask (single run only) at midnight.
However, KJZZ is airing several hours of high school basketball today scheduled for 2:30-9:00PM MT. This is their post-game lineup for tonight. All the game shows' primary airings are being moved to later in the night except for Feud which is not airing either of its two runs at all. Note that the shows may start late if the final game runs past 9:00 unless they truncate the 9:00 newscast. Also note that J! will be on before Wheel tonight, instead of the other way around as usual.

Next week's ACC College Basketball Tournament is being aired on various affiliates around the country from March 12-15. The games will affect Wheel on three affiliates: - WFMY in Greensboro, NC (CBS) will be moving Wheel, along with Jeopardy! and all other affected network and syndicated shows, to its WeatherNation subchannel WFMY-DT3 from Tue-Fri next week. However, WeatherNation still has its regular programming listed.
- WVIR in Charlottesville, VA (NBC) will not be airing Wheel or Jeopardy! at all from Tue-Fri. Only two shows next week, on Monday and Saturday.
- WITN in Washington, NC (NBC) will only be airing Friday's ACC games. Wheel and Jeopardy! will not be seen at all on Friday 3/15, but the rest of the week is unaffected.

Because of the tornado in Central Michigan last night, Wheel and Jeopardy! were both pre-empted on at least two stations: WNEM in Bay City (CBS) and WDIV in Detroit (NBC). The latter tweeted this after receiving complaints for not airing J!:
Down in Alabama, another tornado caused WBMA in Birmingham (ABC) to pre-empt last night's Wheel along with subsequent shows Grey's Anatomy (which was moved to midnight) and Station 19. For the People was joined in progress about 8 minutes in.

The episode of Wheel airing Saturday 3/23 is a rerun of the episode that originally aired May 31, 2018 (Dennise/Jared/Shaniqua). [2] The early-morning airing of the Thursday 3/21 episode on KNOE-DT3 Monroe was incorrectly listed as another airing of the Wednesday 3/20 episode. [3] KYLX Laredo only airs Wheel's Saturday reruns. 1) WLS in Chicago, an ABC O&O, the #3 Nielsen market, and a "Great American Cities" affiliate, is pre-empting Wheel with the Chicago Mayoral Forum from 6:00-7:00PM CT. Wheel is bumped to 2:07AM CT, replacing Right This Minute.
2) WBNS in Columbus, Ohio (CBS) is replacing Wheel with a local special on severe weather titled Doppler 10: Ahead of the Storm. Wheel is bumped to 1:37AM ET after James Corden in place of Paid Programming. Jeopardy! is unaffected, because of course it is...
3) WLKY in Louisville, Kentucky (CBS) is airing a one-hour local March Madness preview special from 7:00-8:00PM ET. As will be the case during March Madness itself, Wheel and Jeopardy! will be moved to its MeTV .2 subchannel in place of M*A*S*H.

A couple reminders of March Madness pre-emptions starting tonight. First, a last-minute correction. WRBL in Columbus, GA will indeed be airing Wheel (and Jeopardy!) on affected weekdays. They will air at their normal times on WRBL's MeTV .2 subchannel in place of M*A*S*H. Apologies of this has been answered in another post/thread, but is there anywhere online that I can go to watch those episodes of WoF that are pre-empted? I really hate that the shows are not airing at all here in Colorado Springs.

A few updates with March Madness pre-emptions for the second week. First, the good-news corrections. WRBL in Columbus, GA has added Wheel's MeTV airings this week to listings. Last week, they were not listed. WBTW in Florence, SC has actually moved Wheel and Jeopardy! to its MyTV/AntennaTV .2 subchannel in place of Archie Bunker's Place. They were not shown in listings last week, but they did air, and they are now shown in listings for this week. Two Texas stations that did not air Wheel at all last week will be airing this week's affected episodes, likely because less CBS programming is pre-empted during the second week, opening up more overnight time slots. KENS in San Antonio will air Thursday and Friday's Wheel at 2:07AM CT. KLST in San Angelo will air Thursday's Wheel at 1:37AM CT and Friday's at 2:00AM CT.
Now for some bad news, which unfortunately applies to a top market and O&O. On Thursday 3/28, KTXA will be airing the Dallas Mavericks @ Miami Heat NBA game from 6:00-9:30PM CT, which pre-empts Jeopardy! (first-run only; Daytime Jeopardy! airs unaffected at 5:30), Wheel, and double runs of How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, and The King of Queens. First-run J! is being moved to 9:30 in place of KOQ, but Wheel will not air at all. Of course Dallas would rather ensure that two Jeopardy!'s are aired even if it means zero Wheels.  On Friday 3/29, KTXA returns to its normal evening schedule, but Millionaire is still listed at 6:30 even on KTVT's website, which at least did have Wheel listed last week. Note that Millionaire is in reruns until April 8. KTVT did confirm via Twitter that Wheel will air at 6:30 on KTXA on Friday.
I also want to point out that two markets do not have Thursday's Wheel listed at all, but do have Friday's (KHOU Houston at 2:37AM CT and WMAZ Macon at 5:00PM ET on Saturday). This could suggest that the Thursday and Friday episodes will be delayed to replace Friday's episode and the Saturday rerun, which is not affected on CBS this week since there are no aired games that day.
One more update: the final game on April 8 does not affect Wheel in the Eastern or Central Time Zones, however it does affect the three CBS affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone and 9 out of the 11 affiliates in the Mountain Time Zone, as the game appears to start at 8:30PM ET/6:30PM MT (KKTV Colorado Springs and KGWN Cheyenne air Wheel at 6:00; all the others air it at the common 6:30). I contacted KTVT/KTXA Dallas asking them why the Jeopardy! favoritism on Thursday. Was curious to see what excuse they'd give me if any: more viewers or champion continuity.
Turns out moving Jeopardy! and not Wheel, according to them, is not for popularity or continuity reasons, but for contractual reasons.
And yet several CBS affiliates are airing Wheel outside that block, and KTXA themselves aired Wheel at 7:00PM CT back on 11/23 due to a Christmas tree lighting on KTVT and Millionaire being in first-run. Maybe rules are more strict for them since they're an O&O? Though that doesn't explain why WBZ Boston, also an O&O, can air WOF/J! overnight, and I seem to recall them briefly airing the two in the 9:00AM ET hour back when CBS had Thursday Night Football. Could be wrong about that, though.
Regardless, Wheel needs to lighten up on their tight scheduling policy. It's in such a tight window that it gets screwed by live evening sports, award ceremonies, and especially when stations like WKRN Nashville constantly slot random local specials in Wheel's tight 6:30 CT "News/Wheel/Primetime" sandwich. I doubt Wheel would raise a fuss if KTXA scheduled the Wheel tape to broadcast at 5:30 on Thursday in place of the less-necessary Daytime Jeopardy!

WFIE in Evansville, Indiana (NBC) is pre-empting tonight's Wheel with a local special on the University of Southern Indiana's basketball team in the tournament. Yes, a special involving a sporting event on CBS is airing on an NBC affiliate.  Sometimes I think these stations do this just to screw with Wheel on purpose. Wheel will air at 1:07AM CT. |
