I'd just settle for using more categories in the bonus round again. In the past 3 months, nearly every bonus round has been a Thing. Even basic categories like Proper Name haven't been in the BR since 2008!

Right now, we're in an era where people want to bring back retro just like us, and some of these ideas are pretty nice. Now despite 29 being my favorite number (I honestly don't really know I like it; I just like it), I truly believe that major changes to the show are very likely to occur for the 30th season since that's a milestone season. The Insurance Marker is a good idea. In fact I made my own version of it called Invincibility. It's chevron-shaped to make it look like a "Bankrupt shield." That could be a nice addition to season 29, but save the big changes for season 30 such as increased values and perhaps vowel costs. Despite that, I personally agree if $300 is the smallest amount that they increase the cost of vowels to be more than that.

While it would be nice to see a variety of prizes for the Prize Puzzle (and, actually, a return to a variety of prizes as a whole), having the prize be a car would just place more of an unearned advantage on the contestant who solves the puzzle than it already does!
The ideal solution is just to get rid of the stupid Prize Puzzle. If they absolutely must keep them around, give away cheaper prizes, such as the dishwasher you mentioned.
Also, they don't need to put a $16,000 prize on the wheel. That's just ridiculous.

Okay, I think I have another change for the season keep the set behind a curtain on opening day with all contestants coming on stage after the new announcer, (I'm not calling it yet even though you all are) Then the contestants will reveal the new set before introducing Pat and Vanna, this way the set is revealed carefully and the audience doesn't see the set before taping starts, it'd ruin the surprise, I understand that doesn't work with other gameshows but if wheel pulled it off with a puzzle board I think they can pull it off with the whole set, use a gold curtain with a string of lights

I don't think that sounds like a bad idea.

They just had a new set this season...I doubt they're going to build a new one so soon.

It wasn't completly new the just added the 25 anniversary new york extentensions to the show that wheel was there two years ago, so a total new set would work

Mario is right. They're not going to build a new generic set when they just did this past season.

But It wasn't that new was my point it's only those center screen extensions over those other neon ones that were used on jeopardy and wheel when they went to new york twice in the last decade, my new set is a total makeover not a cosmetic change here and there

Whatever changes come up, I just hope they get rid of the current theme they're playing. It's useless.

You want to know a real good idea? I just remembered it while commenting at the art section. Here's what the idea is.
When they land on a prize or some sort of privilege such as the Wild Card, not only should they call a letter to pick the wedge or token up but when they do give them what's under there. I do not like the ideas of picking up the prize as soon as you land on it or landing on it, calling a letter to pick it up yet not get what's under there.
Now on Australia's version, although you were only awarded the amount spun when you get a letter in the puzzle (no multiplier rule unless you find the red letter that doubles the amount you spun), I liked the way obtaining their prizes worked.

Now that sounds pretty cool! Maybe our version should consider that.

They actually did that on the syndicated version from 1983 to 1990 where if you landed on a prize wedge, you would automatically pick up; however, you only got the money amount underneath the wedge if you called a correct letter.

Something I just thought of. Since the Prize Puzzle is kind of an unfair advantage, what if the contestant who solves has to meet certain conditions to get the prize in addition to their cash? For example, they only win the associated prize if the puzzle is solved before 50% of all the letters are uncovered. Another idea is to have a 3-minute countdown clock, or some other time limit, on the screen, and the puzzle would have to be solved before time expired. Otherwise, the solver would win only the cash from the round.

I like the idea...though it seems as if it could be confusing to the general public. I think the ideal solution is just to get rid of it!

Well, I didn't like the fact that to earn it, you just had to land on it. What I was really saying was in order to pick it up, you had to land on it then call a letter that's in the puzzle, just like we do today. The only difference is that you're also awarded the cash amount under it. Now if it's on top of a Lose A Turn or a Bankrupt (which will likely never happen although it kind of did one time back in 1988), you'll get the prize plus... well let's not have this unrewarded; give them $500 for each consonant occurence. If you read it wrong, it's all right, WheelFan17. It happens to me from time to time. ;D

No one draws the analogy to the final year of Free Spin's existence?
The wild card could easily be presented that way (though even there they might have to shrink the prop a bit so that it fits in that placement), but full-wedge prizes don't lend themselves to a visual indication that they would work differently at all.
Even if getting $800 on bonusboost would go a way toward relieving that space's almost comical irrelevance.
[UPDATE] Here's a prize puzzle mechanic I've been toying with: Cash prize of $500 for every letter left unturned at the time of solve. If they still want product placement dollars from various travel agencies, maybe add something in the $2000 range on top of that--surely that price range hasn't fallen off the bottom of the market, has it?
