Those aren't too bad except for lowering the value of the prize wedges, limiting them to $2000. If they do that and the Prize Puzzles are worth more than $5000, for the person who got the Prize Puzzle, that really increases their chances of winning. Yes, we got the Jackpot, Mystery Round, and not to mention the top dollar values for each round, but what if the person who got the Prize Puzzle also got the Jackpot and the Mystery Prize? Then what? And yes, I'm aware that same person could also win the prize wedge as well, but that's something to consider.

The show just announced on Facebook their first tape dates for Season 29: July 14th & 15th in Los Angeles. Looks like they're not continuing the Las Vegas season premieres.
I like that they're now announcing this on FB, because it lets more people around the country know about how they can see it live at their studios, instead of just on location. Maybe we'll finally start seeing more fun and enthusiasm in the studio again.

I think the prizes must be removed from the wheel before the $3000 toss up is played. I thought they already were. This is what I get for not reading the last page. Hip hip hooray. More four-digit values would be nice, but what I'd REALLY like to see is $5,000 being moved to Round 3.

Just looked online and they are searching for contestants for "Military Wives Week" and "Golf Getaways Week" for season 29 in the Miami area, which "could" be one of their road show locale tapings.

I wouldn't be surprised. The show goes to two locations every season, and only one has been confirmed so far (Portland, OR). Finally, no more Vegas . Where did you see this, rashad?

Military Wives would be a fresh change-up from the usual. Golf Getaways sounds generic, so I don't think Miami is a location... wonder how many weeks Portland goes

Weird that the link has the normal fill-out application. Guess it's not a Wheelmobile event.
Even if this won't be an on-location shoot, out of curiosity, when was the last time the show taped in Miami?

I have another suggestion. Can they please do away with the lousy "FINAL SPIN" graphics? Everyone who watches WHEEL OF FORTUNE knows what a Final Spin is. There is no need to show them anymore.

There's a reason for the Final Spin graphics to be there. I think it's either because if Pat spins and hits Bankrupt or LAT, the graphic will prevent the viewers from seeing it or because they have to set up the wheel for Pat's finesse. Besides, I like the graphic.

Actually, the graphic isn't used to mask editing in the Final Spin. You can see a non-cash space approach the flipper in the wide shot, then the position of the wheel changes when it switches to the overhead shot.

Stop using pre-recorded audience sounds, mainly the canned "aww"s, gasps, laughter, and applause/cheers.. Do they really use pre-recorded audience sounds?

Yes, they do. Not as much (and not as badly) as they did back in the early '90s, but they do. Since the audience seating area was smaller at the start of Season 24, the show probably felt that the audience wasn't as loud as it was before, so that's around the time they started using today's versions, though some of the sounds used when they taped at CBS Studios carried over for the first week or so at Sony (anybody else find it ironic that the show used obvious canned sounds when taping at the same studio where The Price is Right tapes now, and the audience never shuts up on that show nowadays? ). Sometimes the groans after a bad letter or bad spin are stock groans and added in post-production. In fact, if you have bigjon06's Wheel fangame, the groan you hear as soon as time runs out in the bonus round was taken straight from the show a few years ago, and the same one could still be heard in many episodes of this past season. Unfortunately, I can't link any examples thanks to Sony getting rid of rashad1428's YouTube account, but it could be heard when the Toss Up puzzle "STARBOARD SIDE" went unsolved during "Gone Fishing" (?) week. In an episode during "Sand and Sea" week, a contestant landed on the Million Dollar Wedge on the first spin of the game. Since the audience must not have noticed it for some reason, a gasping sound was added in. Sometimes, laughs are added in during Pat's jokes, too. Although not exactly related to that, here's an interesting discovery I made last year: to promote April Fools 2010, the show uploaded the clip of Pat revealed as bald on the April Fools site a few days before. When Vanna "unveiled" Pat, there was no reaction sounds from the audience, meaning that the segment was pre-recorded, then shown to the audience for their reactions later, which explains why their reactions were more of amusement than shock, because they saw it coming. If you watch the video of Michelle Lowenstein's million dollar win, listen closely to the applause in the background. You'll notice these female screams every minute or so. These screams are part of a stock applause track that's used during every show not recorded on location. You can mainly hear it used during Pat and Vanna's entrance, when a puzzle is solved, while going to commercial breaks, and especially during the Prize Puzzle trip description and Bonus Round wins. In fact, if you watch any episode from the last season of "Hollywood Squares," you'll hear the same track used during the show's intro. EDIT: Just watched a 2005 episode and they still used the track. I don't think it was used the whole time they've been taping at Sony, though.
