MarioGS: I do know that the audience seating was reduced in Season 24 because that was when Wheel began broadcasting in high-definition, and the studio had to be renovated a little bit, and for some reason, part of this renovation was removing about 60 audience seats, if I remember correctly. You had a question mark next to this topic, so I thought I'd clear it up.

Thank you. I actually put a question mark next to "Season 24," because I wasn't 100% sure that the seats were removed concurrently with the beginning of the HD era. Wow, 60 seats? What a difference. That's got to be about 1/3 of the size of the old seating area. Such a shame. I hope they find room to add more seats soon. It just looks way too small now on TV. On another note, since today begins the shooting of Season 29, the show is posting pictures of the set on their Facebook page today and tomorrow.

Today they are taping shows for their Halloween Week. Don't know any of the upcoming changes to the show yet but hopefully it will be competely different from seasons 27 and 28.

You beat me to it, rashad. Here's a picture of the Halloween set: It looks like the same set as Pet Lovers' Week last season, only with the garage door replaced with a screen. It looks nice, but not as scary and colorful as their usual Halloween sets. I hope the area by the contestants in better. However, after a bit of taping knowledge, it looks like that this could be for the "6th show" week. The show tapes two sessions of three shows a day. So today's first session should cover September 19-21. Since there are obviously five shows in every 6th show week, after fast-forwarding five more weeks, the second session for that day should cover September 22, 23, and October 24. Halloween 2011 will fall on a Monday, so it would make more sense to air Halloween week as a buildup to it, rather than have only one show on the actual day, then four more even though it's all over. If the show does indeed tape using this pattern, then tomorrow's tapings should air September 26-30 and October 25 (Halloween Week). So, it looks like the first 6th show week of the season is forced to be Halloween-themed, rather than generic/"America's Game." See what happens when you premiere the new season a week late? But does anybody know what was up last season with airing 6 Halloween shows together? Was it because they didn't want to re-use the Halloween set for the 6th show week, so they aired the 6th show the Friday before and aired two shows from the prior week ("Get Out of Town," I believe) on the 6th show week?

It could be. Though, they DID reuse the Christmas decorations for a 6th show week last season...though, in their defense, it was the first show aired after the New Year... As for the Halloween set at this week's tapings, it doesn't make much sense to haul out the decorations for one show only...could they be taping episodes out of order? Guess we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully we'll get more information about the new season soon...either by way of someone going to the tapings, or an official presser... BTW, the show has announced tapings for July 28th and 29th, in Culver City...I'll add these to the Calendar shortly.

Before this topic gets locked, here's a bit of information on tapings via Twitter, posted around 8PM PST last night:
"Driving to Los Angeles with ******** to tape Wheel of Fortune. It's family week and we are a Dad-Daughter team!!!!!!"
I was told that the season premiere week was taping today. Looks like it's also a family week.

Well, now that we know some of the changes for season 29 (or lack thereof, really), we don't really need to keep this thread around anymore. Please bring all discussion about the new season over to the other thread.
